ASI employees have skills and experience that can benefit this region and we're working to support employee transitions. There will be a workshop held for all ASI employees as well as a job fair. Today we gathered to celebrate a true legend — Mike Rose — on his retirement.

Mike walked through the doors of the reborn Alton Steel on June 13, 2003, but his career began decades earlier at Laclede Steel. His 52 years of service as our Melt Shop Maintenance Manager is a rare and remarkable achievement — a testament to loyalty, leadership, and craftsmanship.

Mike, we’ll miss your expertise, your steady presence, your booming voice, and most of all, your easy laugh.

Thank you for calling us your work family. We’re proud to have been part of your journey.

Enjoy retirement, Mike — you’ve more than earned it! 🎉🛠️👏

"Three other companies moved into the top spot in the other three categories. ⭐Alton Steel was the top SBQ producer⭐, Nucor Berkeley returned to its perch atop beam makers and Hanna Steel claimed the No. 1 ranking among tube producers.

Mills, of course, have different ways of going to market, which is reflected in the survey’s customer satisfaction breakdown. Among sheet producers, Nucor Decatur was the preferred choice among end users, while The Techs topped the list by service centers. Nucor Sedalia and Nucor Birmingham split the top of the ticket in bar/structural; ⭐️Alton Steel⭐️ and Nucor Memphis were the best in class among SBQ producers; and, among tube makers, Atlas Tube and Hanna Steel shared top honors."

We are officially "Kicked Off"....for our 2025 United Way of Greater St. Louis campaign! We are on our way to EXCEED our goal of $45,000 and to be in the Top 10 Givers from over 100 companies in the region. Our Kasha Windmiller was joined by spirited and heartfelt words from United Way's Stephanie Zuzzio Scheffel (who led us in an '80s Movie Trivia game AND also served up delicious sloppy joes 😋) and Nick Dodson of the Greater Madison County AFL-CIO. We also learned about the over 200,000 inquiries a year handled by www.211helps.org a great resource for those in need. Generous ASI employees have contributed nearly $700,000 over the last 20 years! And, our individual donations are matched by the Company! Thank you to our generous associates! 🙏🏼
