Having a blast in the last round of knife classes before summer break! Making pointy/stabby things with from forged in fire!

It’s become SUCH a refined class, definitely one we’re proud of!

There’s two rose classes and one welding class in June, which will fill fast- then classes resume in September, with a schedule that will post in August.

Last call for classes!
We have a few spots left this weekend, and then we blissfully disappear for the months of June, July, and August! Classes will resume in September, with septembers schedule coming out in mid August.
We might sprinkle in a few in June, but idk… I’m like a senior counting down the days till summer break, im excited for some awesome adventures!

You’ll be able to see us at the Three Rivers Arts Festival, as well as a few other demos and shows throughout the summer, but there will be no classes or ring making opportunities until we resume in September.

Lots of cool textures we’ve been playing around with in the coffee scoop class. We will have a bunch of coffee scoops on hand for three rivers arts festival! This is a product we’re proud of, and one your kitchen needs!

Some folks don’t know this- but no artist stays at the three rivers arts festival for the entire time, so be sure to check when the artists you support will be there! We’re there the second weekend of June, and we’re proud to be amongst the first batch of artists to settle in to the new park! So join us in Arts-Landing, June 11-14th!

Sometimes we make cool things!
Making stainless Damascus rings is my passion- let’s make you one!

Next week is the last chance to order a ring and receive it before September. We take our summer break very seriously, so any orders placed in that time won’t get started until we resume September 1st. We have six weeks of production time, and six weeks until break- so….. get your order in soon!

Had a great time off-roading “Heidi” this weekend, and got extremely stuck. Heidi is a 1987 vw vanagon “syncro”, a full camper with impressive ground clearance, skid plates, snorkel, suspension travel, and AWD. My other syncro Westy has locking differentials as well- Heidi does not, but gets along nicely on her spring set of mud tires.
Well while stomping through my regular stomping grounds, we discovered that driving over a freshly burried pipeline results in instantly sinking a foot or more, before wheel spin even happens, directly into a pit of essentially quick-sand (loose, wet clay).

I’m not at all ashamed to say that this one required a tractor to pull it out. We were instantly burried to the TOP of both tires on that side. Wild!

Anyways, I hope you had a fun weekend filled with great adventures! I know I did!

We really cleaned and freshened up this 253lb Peter wright anvil before handing it off to some new owners today. This anvil now resides at the University of Pittsburgh, in their awesome new forging space, for their awesome new forging club! I’m confident that countless generations of future blacksmiths and engineers will be great stewards of this lovely 170 year old anvil!

We had an absolute blast this weekend with a full round of classes! We helped folks make some bottle openers, coffee scoops, and two fun intro to knife making classes! It’s pretty cool that we get to share this adventure with you, and we can’t thank you enough for making this possible!

Today’s ring couple is driving here from New Hampshire, 12 hours of driving to come make their wedding ring! Our average customer is from more than a day away, with folks flying here from all over the world.

With the skyrocketing price of precious metals, do this soon. The price of gold has DOUBLED since the last time I updated things, the price of silver has TRIPPLED. With silver now at $80ish/oz I’m going to hold off on changing the price of that option and just eat it on my end, but a gold lined ring costs 2.5x what it did in January of last year. What’s it going to cost in June? What’s it going to cost in December?
