Hi friends, the time has come to share some sad news. We are unfortunately getting out of farming. :( this was not a decision that has come easy. Quite the contrary, it has torn us up from the inside with the concept of letting go what has become a genuine love for our animals and the land they reside on.
As many of you know we leased land from my family. As you may also know, it's not always a good idea to pour countless hours time and money into something that you do not own, but we took a risk. Unfortunately business with family was hard to manage and it ended up ruining relations which was never the goal. For the sake of hoping to repair whats been broken we have decided to give up the farm and focus on other opportunities that God may have for us.
It breaks our heart to say that we are done. We tried our best, we gave out all and we are leaving the farm in a much better state than where it was, and for that we are extremely proud of what we accomplished there. So we will hold on the the memories and pray that some day an opportunity will come for us to get back into farming, be it near or far.
* The love and support of our friends and community has been so encouraging over the years, and at times has been the only thing keeping us going. We are thankful for each and every one of you who followed or journey and invested in us in some way. We have definitely felt the love!
To say we are ok right now would be a lie, selling our cows was the hardest decision we've ever had to make. but Im hoping time heals the wounds that feel all too real right now.
Please pray that relationship with my family can be mended and that we find the path that God has for our lives bc honestly at this time we feel lost.
Also if someone knows a small farm or sanctuary that would take in Braylens pet baby cow Orion. We are looking at options and would love to be able to visit him throughout his life. He is friend, not food ;).
And if your wondering why I put a picture of a pineapple, it was a gift from the gentleman who bought our cattle. He brought it back to us from his trip to Hawaii. And my was it delicious!!! Something sweet out of a sour situation. The gesture meant a lot to us.
Thank you again for your support. Our hard work was not in vain and has taught us a lot about life and caring for animals. We will hopefully be able to look back with fond memories of the good times we had and be proud of the work we did here on my grandpas farm. π
