Having the technology is only part of the C-UAS challenge.

At Unmanned Systems West, Jeff Braun, SPA Senior Director of Emerging Markets, discussed how rapidly evolving UAS technologies and tactics are changing warfare and what that means for the way organizations approach counter-UAS.

What makes an effective C-UAS solution depends heavily on the mission and operating environment, including authorities, laws, risk, collateral damage considerations, and other mission-specific factors. Jeff discussed why those factors need to be understood early, alongside vulnerability assessments, localized requirements, market analysis, and the development of an adaptable system of systems.

Keeping that capability effective after deployment also requires continued testing, training, red teaming, exercises, and adaptation as UAS technologies and tactics evolve.

Through a flexible workplace policy, SPA employees who qualify as puppy raisers are invited to bring their dogs to work each day, creating a vibrant office environment that doubles as a training ground.
