Bohannan Huston was proud to join NMDOT, local leaders, and community members to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the NM 101/University Avenue project in Las Cruces. BHI has been involved with this important corridor from the early planning stages, through design, and now through completed construction. The $22 million roadway reconstruction improved NM 101/University Ave. between Avenida de Mesilla and South Main Street, supporting safer travel, better traffic flow, improved accessibility, and stronger connections for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, students, nearby neighborhoods, and local businesses.

Construction was completed six months ahead of schedule, reflecting strong collaboration among the many teams involved. Congratulations to everyone who helped bring this important roadway improvement across the finish line for the Las Cruces and Mesilla communities.

BHI was proud to participate in the 2026 Western Colorado Children’s Water Festival in Grand Junction as a presenter, volunteer, and participating sponsor. Recognized as the largest children’s water festival in Colorado, the event brings more than 1,500 fifth-grade students to Las Colonias Park each year to explore the many ways water impacts their lives, communities, and future careers.

The BHI team enjoyed sharing water science with students through a fun and interactive “Water Jeopardy” session focused on groundwater, surface water, water use, and the water cycle.

Thank you to Ute Water Conservancy District for hosting this meaningful event and inviting community partners to help introduce students to the importance of water, water related careers, and the role water plays in our communities every day.

Mesa County's Rosevale Road project took the stage at two recent industry events! Rifka Wine presented the Rosevale Road Drainage Improvements Project at this year’s New Mexico Watershed and Dam Owners Conference, and Grady Koenig shared it at the CASFM West Slope Seminar.

Their presentations highlighted how early community engagement, thoughtful stakeholder communication, and strong visual storytelling helped guide a complex flood control project from alternatives analysis through design. Great job, team, for helping bring the project story to life!

Thanks, NM TransCon, for a great week in Las Cruces. We loved connecting with attendees, sharing through our presentations, and watching the creativity come to life at our build-your-own minifig station. Thank you to the NM TransCon organizers, our BHI presenters, and everyone who joined our sessions and stopped by the booth. We loved seeing so many people piece together a little fun in between sessions.

BHI’s Las Cruces office celebrated a combined Earth Day and Arbor Day volunteer event with the City of Las Cruces Parks team at Apodaca Park. With guidance from Orlando Flores, Community Forester, and Franco Granillo with the City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department, our volunteers spent the morning planting five non-bearing fruit olive trees, Wilson Olives, along Solano Road. Thank you to the City Parks team for hosting us, and to our Las Cruces volunteers for showing up ready to dig in and support a greener community.
