The thrill of happiness when you have your hard work recognized!
We were very fortunate to have Ashley Walkowiak, the Executive Director of the Governor's Advisory Council on Women visit us at the Witches' Midnight Market. She spend a great deal of time with our youngest vendor, Scarlet who was selling her slime, and with the leadership of Region 21 FBLA, as well as giving a special speech and delivering this message from Governor Shapiro.
When I bought my shop in 2020, the downtown looked very different. People were afraid to walk down the street, it had developed a very bad reputation during the 90s and was left to neglect and decay. Then a group of women business owners moved in and decided things need to change, By working together, we have turned the downtown into a lovely place to be both for businesses and as a neighborhood. We have a long way to go, but we've made huge strides and I wanted all of you to see what we can do when we work together. Don't let them tell you it can't be done, it just hasn't been done yet. Prove them wrong by gathering together with like minded people and creating what you want to see in the world.
