We are pleased to announce that, effective today, Doc’s Hardware & Rental in Albion and Doc’s Hardware in Churubusco have new owners.
First and foremost, we want to thank everyone in our communities who has supported us over the years. For the past 25 years, our family has truly enjoyed getting to know, serve, and help so many wonderful customers. Your support has meant more to our family than we could ever put into words.
The past several months have been incredibly difficult as we have felt the tremendous emptiness left by the passing of the man behind the helm. He had a vision for Doc’s Hardware and worked tirelessly to see that vision come to life. But what made Duber so special wasn’t just what he built—it was how he treated people along the way. He always took the time to go the extra mile for a customer, lend a helping hand, share a story, and bring a smile to someone’s face.
He loved what he did, and even more importantly, he was able to do it alongside his family. Doc’s was never just a hardware store to us. It was truly a family business, and it became a special part of our lives and our communities.
Although today closes the chapter on the Merriman family’s time at Doc’s Hardware, we are excited to see the new local owners bring their own vision to life and continue the tradition of our “little ole hardware store in town.”
We are incredibly proud of what Doc’s has become over the past 25 years, and we sincerely hope it continues to grow and flourish for many years to come.
