We have recently implemented Cognex’s 282 barcode scanners on over twenty packaging lines to increase production quality and reduce operator error. These scanners are being used to verify the presence and content of labels on our customer’s high-speed roll stock applicators. The contents of the label are being uploaded directly from their internal ERP system. The scanners verify a match between the universal product code and the top, back, and front labels' 2D data matrix codes. In the event of a mismatch, the system will disable the line and alert quality control, helping them prevent mislabeling and recalls. This is just one of the ways we are using technology to improve our customers processes and help them provide safe products to theirs. "

RS Automation is in search of experienced Toolmakers, Haas Vertical mill Machinist, Premium Pay to join our team.

*Prior experience is required*

Essential Functions:
• Set-up jobs on the machine, including; loading, program with either G-code or Mastercam programs a Plus, adjust programs using zero and reference points, tool registers, offsets, and compensation.
• Calculate speeds and feeds to optimize the machining process.
• Load / unload tools and use a pre-setter to set tooling gauge lengths.
• Inspect manufactured components for conformance to specifications using bench gauging.
• Perform maintenance tasks to maintain machinery performance and prevent machine downtime.
• Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work with others within a skilled work force environment.
• Fine motor skills with frequent hand and arm movement.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Moderate twisting and bending.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Master Cam, Cad Cam, G-Code Experience a plus
• 3, 4 and 5-axis programming / machining a plus.
• Experience with Haas Vertical CNC Mills a plus
• Machinist Apprenticeship Journeyman a Plus.
• Ability to read & interpret machining program.
• Manual lathe experience a plus.
• Self starter.
• Excellent mathematical skills.
• Good written and verbal skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, shop travelers, etc.
• Ability to use/setup various measuring devices.
• Strong problem solving skills.

RS Automation Installed our 2nd 5 axis Haas Vertical machining center, This Haas equipment is perfect for complex parts with its 610mm x 406mm x 406 mm, with 400 mm Integrated 2-Axis Trunnion Rotary Table, travels and 5-axis capabilities and will allow us to reduce setups and part handling, while increasing feature-to-feature accuracy. Secondly we are expanding our Machining area by 10,000sqft with the steel er****on starting in March. We are looking for talented individuals and will train for these positions. RS Automation completes a customer's 3rd Pick and Place Gantry Robotic Cell for line efficiency and labor replacement projects. Allen Bradley Servo's and PLC's with X-Y&Z axis's with RSA's Step formatted Sequenced motion software.

Gantry Applications:
Gantry robots have all their axes located above the work envelope which makes them ideal for overhead work processes. Gantry robots can be used to hold and position a variety of end-effectors such as those used in: PC board assembly, dispensing, spraying, material handling, palletizing, pick and place, water jet, plate welding, friction welding, assembly, packaging, unitizing, sorting, scanning, tray loading / unloading, camera positioning. inspection, glass cutting, printing plotting, laser cutting, flying knives, fastening and screw driving.

It has been argued that the gantry is the real workhorse of modern industry. Think about it… millions of gantry robots have been packaged and sold into turn-key machines such as those used for assembling electronic components and robotic pick and place systems alone. Even today, linear X-Y-Z gantries are the mainstay of the of machine tool co-ordinate measuring industries due to their accuracy and rigidity.
