GPI is proud to be part of the project team supporting the design and engineering of Ulster County’s new Emergency Communications Center (ECC) in New Paltz, NY: a state-of-the-art facility set to enhance public safety, emergency coordination, and climate resilience across the region.

We provided structural, civil, and MEP engineering services for this critical 16,350-square-foot facility, which will house the Emergency-911 Center, Emergency Operations Center, and Fire & EMS Divisions, all under one resilient and energy-efficient roof.

Special thanks to Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger, Ulster County Emergency Services, Ulster County Industrial Development Agency, and our incredible partners, Urbahn Architects and the Palombo Group, for making this vision a reality.

In celebration of Earth Week 2025, GPI teamed up with the Hudson River Valley Greenway (HRVG) for the 5th Annual AHET Earth Day Clean-Sweep.
This year's cleanup brought together GPI staff, friends, and family alongside HRVG volunteers to help maintain the Albany-Hudson Electric Trail (AHET) system by picking up trash and sweeping the trail and its intersections.
We love supporting initiatives that blend environmental preservation with community connection. A huge thank you to all the volunteers who made the day a success!

GPI has been proud to support the design and construction of the Albany-Hudson Electric Trail (AHET) from concept to reality as part of the overall Empire State Trail initiative. This funding represents another significant milestone in the enhancement of AHET.

During Earth Week 2025, the Hudson River Valley Greenway (HRVG) announced $2.2 million from the $4.2 billion Clean Water, Clean Air and Green Jobs Environmental Bond Act for resilient recreational enhancements to the Albany-Hudson Electric Trail.

GPI was proud to join fellow professionals in the construction and engineering industries at the Builders' Bonanza Joint Networking Event last week! The event, sponsored by American Society of Plumbing Engineers Capital Region Chapter, ASHRAE Northeast Chapter, NAWIC Capital District, and Society of Fire Protection Engineers (New York Empire Chapter) allowed our staff to connect with peers while enjoying bowling, bumper cars, and other fun activities at APEX Entertainment in Albany, NY.

Events like these strengthen our industry's foundation and give us a fun, collaborative space to connect. We're always excited to support and be a part of such engaging events.

This past weekend, GPI staff had the privilege of judging the Future City Competition-Albany at Shaker High School. We were amazed by the innovative and creative city designs presented by middle school students. The theme 'Above the Current' inspired 11 teams in the Capital Region to showcase their futuristic and sustainable visions. Congratulations to all the participants for their outstanding efforts!
