🚀 A piece of history, reborn in Malta, NY!

Our crew at Mecha Art & Fabrication built this 1/3 scale Hermes A-1 rocket for G&G Industrial Lighting and it now stands tall at their front entrance.

Why here? Because back in 1947, the very first Hermes A-1 engine test firing happened just down the road at the Malta Test Station. 🔥

On November 20, 1944, the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps signed a contract with General Electric to research long-range missiles. Just a few years later, in early 1947, the first test firing of the Hermes A-1 liquid-fuel engine took place right here at the Malta Test Station.
