🗞️ The Daily Orange highlighted the NY Creates-Micron Technology Joint Apprenticeship Program, an initiative designed to create a pathway for future semiconductor technicians and help build New York’s next generation workforce.

The program has begun for the first cohort with hands-on training, classroom instruction, and mentorship to prepare participants for careers in the semiconductor industry. Additional cohorts will launch in 2027 and 2028, expanding opportunities for individuals interested in joining this growing field.

As highlighted in the article, apprenticeship programs can open doors for people at many stages of their careers, ranging from recent high school graduates with a passion for technology to experienced professionals seeking a new path.

As Capri O’Hara, Director of Workforce Development at Creates, noted, “Micron’s investment in Clay represents a transformative opportunity for central New York, but realizing that opportunity requires more than building a world-class facility. It requires a skilled, sustainable talent pipeline to support it.”

Meet the Creators at NY Creates: Ryan Moore ✨

Ryan Moore has spent the past 12+ years helping keep Creates' cleanroom operations running at their best as our Senior Cleanroom Operations Manager. He works closely with our teams and on-site partners to support semiconductor R&D while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence. He also partners with our Recruitment team to help create opportunities for employees to learn, grow, and succeed.

What Ryan loves most about his role? Solving problems, improving processes, and helping people build rewarding careers.
