Yesterday , Jones Edmunds student interns had the opportunity to tour Sweetwater Wetlands Park and learn firsthand how innovative infrastructure can create meaningful environmental impact.

A special thank you to our partners at Gainesville Regional Utilities, the City of Gainesville, and Jones Edmunds Executive Director Brett Goodman for sharing the history, vision, and long-term benefits of this nationally recognized project.

The tour highlighted how engineering, ecology, water quality, and community planning can come together to support resilient and sustainable solutions for Florida’s future.

Experiences like these give our interns the opportunity to see how infrastructure projects move beyond design plans to create lasting benefits for communities and the environment.
