Zips BME Design Team

Zips BME Design Team We are a student organization at the University of Akron who designs and implements impactful solutions to real-world medical problems.

The University of Akron’s Biomedical Engineering Design team consists of over 50 undergraduate and graduate students. We were founded in 2014 by the chair of UA’s BME department, Dr. Brian Davis, along with a group of students dedicated to solving medical problems. We collaborate with medical professionals and various organizations to solve problems in the medical field through the design and augm

entation of devices and procedures. Successful projects have gone on to win student competitions and grants which are applied towards commercialization in order to get our innovations in the hands of those in need of solutions. Most recently, our organization has been engineering solutions for adults and children with disabilities in Summit County while working with local professionals like Summit DD and Air Enterprise.
