ARDL is proud to be featured in today’s Akron Beacon Journal article exploring the future of manufacturing in Northeast Ohio—and the growing demand for skilled workers, technical expertise, and automation.

ARDL’s Katie A Kelley and Nicki Hershberger shared their perspectives on workforce development, the loss of institutional knowledge, and the importance of preparing the next generation for careers in polymers and manufacturing. During the interview, Bob Hershberger and Barry Palmer also provided hands-on demonstrations, giving the reporter a firsthand look at the technical work happening inside ARDL’s laboratories.

The article also highlights ARDL’s involvement in developing Barberton High School's dual-credit polymer science course and our recent hiring of three Barberton graduates. These partnerships are helping connect local students with real career opportunities while strengthening the future of our region’s polymer industry.

🏆 We're proud to announce that ARDL has received the 2026 ARPM Safety Best Practice Award!

This marks the second consecutive year ARDL has been recognized nationally by the Association for Rubber Products Manufacturers (ARPM)—this year for our Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S) Awareness Training and Emergency Response Program.

At ARDL, Safety is one of our seven core values and a guiding principle behind everything we do. Through monthly safety training, ongoing workplace improvements, proactive employee involvement, and a commitment to continuous improvement, we've built a culture where safety comes first.

This recognition reflects the dedication of every member of the ARDL team.
