Introducing the Crocodile Hall at Wilhelma in Stuttgart, Germany, a project where safety and design come together in a demanding zoo environment.

Wilhelma is a unique combination of zoo and botanical gardens set within a historic palace complex, home to around 11,000 animals from over 1,200 species across roughly 28 hectares. The crocodile hall, rebuilt in 2005/2006 and modeled on a northern Australian landscape, serves as a shared habitat for Australian reptiles, amphibians, birds and plants.

Because Australian crocodiles can jump up to 3 meters high, the railings were equipped with a double cable mesh construction to maintain a safe distance between the animals and visitors. The X TEND® Stainless Steel Cable Mesh (50 mm and 100 mm mesh sizes) is dyed black, allowing it to blend almost invisibly into the surroundings and preserve clear sightlines.

X TEND® is durable, flexible, and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, with the ability to meet nearly any individual requirement, including three dimensional shapes. At Wilhelma, it delivers reliable protection without taking away from the visitor experience.

Introducing the new Canberra Hospital expansion in Garran, Australia, where architecture and public art come together on a striking sustainable facade.

As the hospital grows to meet the region's rising needs, its new building features a facade made from X TEND® CXA Stainless Steel Cable Mesh (399 m², 140 mm mesh size, 3.0 mm cable diameter), fitted with 25,000 sequins to form the pattern of "Journey to Healing," an artwork by talented First Nations artist Lynnice Church.

Beyond its cultural significance, the facade contributes to sustainable cooling for the building, demonstrating how a single design element can serve both aesthetic and performance driven purposes. The project was realized through close collaboration with Ronstan Tensile Architecture, bringing together technical precision and artistic vision.

Canberra Hospital is a compelling example of how cable mesh systems can support meaningful storytelling while advancing sustainable, high performing architecture in healthcare settings.

Introducing the Waldturm forest tower and treetop walk in Sankt Englmar, Germany, a striking addition to the Bavarian Forest National Park.

Standing 52 metres tall on a single reinforced concrete trunk, the tower resembles a giant tree and anchors a spiral shaped treetop path measuring 2.5 metres wide and 400 metres long, leading visitors to a panoramic viewing platform. A pioneer in treetop trail construction since opening its first walkway in 2008, Sankt Englmar expanded the experience in 2020 with the addition of this forest tower.

To secure the structure without compromising its immersive views, 1,000 m² of X TEND® Stainless Steel Cable Mesh (60 mm mesh size, 2 mm cable diameter) was installed along the railings. The mesh's light weight and flexibility allowed it to be adapted precisely to the tower's unique geometry, while its transparent, low profile look preserves unobstructed sightlines across the forest canopy.

The result is a rare balance of safety, design, and nature: a visitor experience that feels both secure and seamlessly connected to its surroundings.

Since 1995, Tiger Island at Dreamworld theme park in Coomera, Australia has been home to Sumatran and Bengal tigers, two of the rarest big cats in the world, and a proud ambassador for international tiger conservation through the Dreamworld Wildlife Foundation.

The highlight: the Tiger Catwalk, a raised tube made from black X TEND® Stainless Steel Cable Mesh that lets tigers move safely between enclosures. Its open, filigree structure offers a clear view while blending seamlessly into the landscape.

We're proud to announce our partnership with Evertreen, a platform dedicated to reforestation and verified CO2 offsetting for individuals and businesses.

Evertreen has already made a measurable impact: over 3.6 million trees planted, more than 81,000 tonnes of CO2 absorbed, and nearly 467,000 working hours created for local communities through their forestry projects.
