Grind Lap’s founder John Gallichio spent his early career in sales and support for Speedfam, the industry-leading lapping machine manufacturer. As he got to know the market better, he envisioned a business that could provide precise technical expertise as well as unrivaled personal service, quality and on-time deliver

y. In 1978, he took what he had, bought his first lapping machine, and opened his own 3,000-square-foot shop in Franklin Park, IL. He grew Grind Lap by acquiring machines, adding services, and building one of the most highly skilled and talented teams in the business. For over 40 years, Grind Lap has won loyal customers that value the personal attention and technical design and engineering expertise we bring to every project. Since our founding, we’ve grown considerably and today our customer base is nationwide. At heart, we’re still a family-owned, family-operated company.
