Position Summary:
The ideal candidate has knowledge of purchasing metal fabrication, extrusion, plastic and electronic parts as well as managing BOM’s in production and inventory management. The candidate is organized and results driven. They understand the importance in having inventory in stock for servicing customer needs.
Position Objective:
This person is responsible for buying and managing all inventory items and maintaining the Item Master
Position Responsibilities:
• Purchase specifically assigned products and production materials (metal fabrication, machining, wire harnesses, connectors, sensors, switches, screws, packaging, etc.)
• Initiates sourcing and qualify vendors for products and parts
• Build and maintain positive domestic and international (Europe and Asia) supplier relationships
• Negotiate and establish pricing levels to maintain a competitive cost environment while ensuring continued quality and prompt deliver times
• Work with manufacturing to keep production schedule current
• Work with engineering for new and existing product lines
• Providing support information as needed for accounting
• Analyze, forecast, develop and maintain inventory targets
• Manage international freight in rates
Job Requirements:
• Entrepreneurial spirit with the desire to own their responsibilities
• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years Purchasing / Buying experience
• Effective written and verbal communication
• PC literate and proficient in Microsoft office applications, INxSQL a plus
• Quick learner of technical data
