What a week for ! 🏆
MWFA FSTNR Week brought our industry together in every way that matters — service, competition, connection, and celebration.
🛠️ Sleep in Heavenly Peace Bed Build — Kicked things off giving back, building beds for kids who need them. Community first, always.
⛳ Golf at Cog Hill — A little friendly competition (and a lot of great conversation) with our fastener family.
🚤 FSTNR Week Opening Mixer aboard the Spirit of Chicago — Skyline views, great people, and the perfect way to kick off the week in style.
🏢 FSTNR Week Expo — Connecting with partners and customers old and new, showcasing what Better⁴ looks like in action.
🎉 MWFA 80th Anniversary Hall of Fame Dinner — And what a way to close it out. SWD Inc. was honored to be inducted into the MWFA Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026, celebrating 80 years of an industry built on relationships.
From service to celebration, this week was a reminder of why we do what we do. Grateful for this community, grateful for our team, and proud to call this industry home.

This is what we do! We show up for a great cause. SWD hosted the MWFA Bed Build for Sleep in Heavenly Peace with over 100 volunteers and over $35,000 raised! Thank you to everyone that participated.

How many beds can a room full of fastener people build in five hours? We're about to find out.

This Sunday we're hosting the Sleep in Heavenly Peace bed build at our shop in Addison, and the MWFA community is coming out to build beds for children in the Chicago area who are sleeping without one.

Our annual SWD company cookout was everything a Better⁴ day should be — good food, great people, and even better company. We kicked things off in style with our Chicago Bears themed shirts, repping our motto: "Good² + Better⁴ = BEST! We Never Let It Rest. We Make Good Things Better, 'Cause Better⁴ is Best."

No matter which shift you're on or which department you call home, days like this remind us why SWD feels less like a workplace and more like a family.

A huge thank you to our incredible team, and to everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this day possible. This one's for you. 🧡💙

Celebrating an Incredible Honor

Today, we proudly celebrate a remarkable achievement—Rick Delawder, President of SWD Inc., has been inducted into the Illinois Manufacturers Association (IMA) Illinois Manufacturing Hall of Fame.

This well-deserved recognition highlights Rick’s leadership of a second-generation, family-owned business right here in Addison, Illinois. Under his guidance, SWD has built a reputation for excellence in metal finishing, coating, and fastener sorting—representing the very best of American manufacturing.

Rick’s impact extends far beyond SWD. His industry leadership includes:
-Past Board President of the National Association of Surface Finishing (NASF)
-Past Board President of the Chicago Metal Finishers Institute (CMFI)
-Former Chair of the Illinois Manufacturers Association (IMA) Board of Directors

He was joined by his family and colleagues for this special moment—an appropriate tribute to a leader who has always put people, quality, and industry advancement first.
