Today, our Georgia factory team stands together in orange to honor Go Orange Day, a central part of National Work Zone Awareness Week.

The reality of the road remains sobering, and the latest national data (NHTSA and BLS) reminds us why we must stay vigilant:

899 lives lost in work zones.
705 of those were drivers and passengers.
82 highway worker occupational fatalities.
39,000 work zone injuries.

This year’s theme, Safe Actions Save Lives, is a call to action. To the contractors, engineers, and crews in the zone: we see you.

That’s a lot of asphalt equipment! This echelon paving & rolling shot comes from the recent award-winning interstate 90 job in Erie County, Pennsylvania. Longtime SAKAI customer Lindy Paving won their 6th Sheldon G. Hayes award from this full 7 mile reconstruction (including bridge widening, bridge replacement, & the commonwealth’s first teardrop roundabout interchange).

The world’s only vibratory tire roller doing a bit of rolling during our factory backyard paving project. The 10 ton GW754 uses 4 vibratory settings to replace a whole range of static PTR weights up to the equivalent of a 25 ton. Plus, the vibratory action amplifies the kneading effect of the superflat tires granting a further density advantage.
