The WrapGlove®
10 years ago the originators of The brand WrapGlove® identified the need for a glove when wrapping with ultra conformable films e.g. 3 mils and less. These ultra thin films not available in the US, were in essence 1/2 the thickness of the film, that was industry standard of the day. Until the advent of standoff technology, most if not all adhesives were very aggressive (High Initi
al tack). Consequently these thin films would distort with the slightest amount of repositioning. To make things worse, the hand was needed for application in those areas that the squeegee was just not conformable enough, and the bare would grip and gouge the media. The hand would simply not slide across the surface. Furthermore, when handling the aggressive material and the great amount of repositioning you would transfer oils and sweat from the hands to the adhesive side of the media, therefore compromising the adhesive side of the media. To the benefit of all installers today, those trials and tribulations by originators of The brand WrapGlove®, was the proving grounds for what is now an industry standard...the brand WrapGlove®.
