Position Summary
V-Bar Equipment is seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment / Forklift Mechanic to join our growing team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing forklifts and various types of heavy equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation for our customers.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work independently in both shop and field environments.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair forklifts, material handling equipment, and heavy machinery.
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled service work.
Repair and replace hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and fuel system components.
Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
Complete work orders accurately and document repairs performed.
Operate diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Communicate effectively with customers, service advisors, and team members.
Perform field service calls as needed.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a forklift mechanic, diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or related field.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, diesel, gasoline, and propane systems.
Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
Manufacturer certifications are a plus but not required.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
