JOB TITLE: Driver
DEPARTMENT: Administration
REPORTS TO: Administrator-Human Resource Officer

PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
To handle the transportation operations of Medequip U Limited efficiently and safely, ensuring timely movement of goods, clients, and staff while maintaining vehicles in good working condition and upholding the company’s professional image.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Safely transport staff, clients, and goods to designated destinations on schedule.
2. Ensure company vehicles are well-maintained, serviced, and always fueled.
3. Plan and follow safe, efficient routes using navigation tools where necessary.
4. Keep vehicles clean, tidy, and in roadworthy condition at all times.
5. Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance.
6. Handle goods and customer payments responsibly, ensuring proper accountability.
7. Promptly report any vehicle faults, accidents, or incidents.
8. Assist with loading and offloading goods as required.
9. Provide courteous and professional service to clients and the public.
10. Perform any other duties assigned by management from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).
• Valid and clean driving license for the appropriate vehicle class (B, C1, or C).
• At least three (3) years of proven driving experience in a reputable organization.
• Defensive driving training or certification is an added advantage.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify common vehicle problems.
• Experience operating both vehicles and motorcycles is desirable.

• Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic regulations.
• Strong time management and organizational abilities.
• High sense of responsibility, honesty, and reliability.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to safety and attention to detail.
• Record-keeping and accountability skills.
