We created a luxurious atmosphere with our signature chandelier at GRAND HOTEL ✨

As part of the lighting project for one of the most recognizable hotels in Lviv — Grand Hotel — we designed a chandelier that fully reflects the character of the space and serves as its central feature. The composition is complemented by accent interior lighting that highlights the architecture, textures, and shapes the overall atmosphere of the main lobby.

The foundation of the composition is formed by unique glass plates crafted in our glassblowing laboratory. These elements feature a two-layer structure, where each layer has its own specific function: first, a textured inner surface that seems to radiate warmth, followed by an amalgam coating that protects the material from damage while providing maximum reflectivity. On top of that, the chandelier fragments were finished with additional tinting.

Most people are used to chandeliers being illuminated from within, but due to the structure and materials of this object, we decided to direct the light from the outside instead.

We approached the chandelier lighting the same way we approach sculpture lighting, using different optics from multiple angles to achieve an anti-glare effect. Narrow and delicate beams create warm accents, medium beams emphasize the volumes, while wide beams unite everything into one unique composition.

The interior lighting continues this logic: accent lighting helps build the hierarchy of the space, creates depth, and balances intimacy with elegance, enhancing the emotional perception of the lobby.

Together with Володимир Непийвода YOD Group, we created a true work of art that now decorates the central hall of the hotel in the heart of Lviv.

Thanks to the Expolight Cloud Control System service, both the chandelier and the lighting scenarios of the space are programmed to automatically change four times a day with smooth, seamless transitions.

Our new caustic-effect wall sconce💡

Today, we’re excited to share our latest development — a piece we are just beginning to integrate into our projects, but one that has already received outstanding feedback from our clients.

Introducing our new wall sconce with a caustic effect — a design inspired by the sea, waves, and a sense of lightness.

It features a delicate, almost floating transparent form that creates dynamic light wave patterns on the walls, bringing a unique and immersive atmosphere to the space.

The idea was born while working on a project in Cyprus, where we aimed to capture the essence of the sea — its movement, calmness, and natural magic — and translate it into spatial experience.

We intentionally avoided metal elements to ensure the fixture visually “disappears” within the interior when turned off. Yet in the evening, it transforms the space: soft waves of light flow across the walls, creating a living, shimmering canvas.

How do you feel about this interaction between light and architecture?
Would you consider adding such an effect to your space?✨

Lighting for a new establishment in a well-known London neighborhood💡

In the heart of Soho, where the city pulsates to the rhythm of music, flavors, and nightlife, the new MOI restaurant has opened—a space that has seamlessly become part of this dynamic atmosphere.

Special attention was paid to working with textures. Warm amber tones and hidden light sources reveal the texture of the walls, allowing light to glide across surfaces, highlight relief, and create a lively play of shadows. Precise lighting accents highlight tables, plants, and architectural elements, creating a cohesive visual composition.

The staircase has become one of the key elements of the space. Integrated lighting emphasizes its form and rhythm, while shadows from the plants add dynamism and a sense of nature’s presence within the interior.

A particular highlight is the woven “snake” installation on the wall. Custom light fixtures were designed for it, working in tandem with both exterior and interior lighting to highlight the interweaving and reveal the object’s structure.

In the restroom area, the lighting creates a distinct atmospheric space—a balance between expressiveness and comfort that enhances the visitor experience and creates a recognizable visual identity.

The project was implemented in collaboration with the YØDEZEEN architectural team and the client’s team led by Artem Zverev.
MOI is now ready to welcome guests—in a new light.

A unique feature of our projects is our proprietary digital lighting control ecosystem 💡

A key pride and an integral part of our work is the complex custom software we have developed — Expolight Cloud Control System. This is a cloud-based platform that we continuously expand in line with the growth of the company.

At its core are our in-house controllers and cloud infrastructure, which ensure stable operation of all lighting and media systems and enable flexible real-time control of spaces.

The system integrates all key layers of management:
— lighting scenarios
— media content for screens and projection systems
— interactive spatial mechanisms and responses

It allows centralized control through a single interface, enabling all lighting scenarios to be managed, zones to be combined, and atmospheres to be smoothly transformed throughout the day — from calm morning states to dynamic evening moods.

Our clients can independently and easily control the lighting atmosphere of a space through intuitive applications designed specifically for each project.

For every project, we develop custom interfaces and applications:
— for switching lighting scenarios
— for managing media content
— for interacting with installations
— for remote system control

In media installation projects, these tools become part of the artwork itself — allowing audiences to interact with light, influence it, and become co-creators of the experience.

This is why we work with interactive technologies, 3D systems, holographic solutions, and content for screens and projection systems, integrating them into a unified digital toolkit. This enables not only space control, but also deeper emotional engagement and a new way of experiencing light.

Ultimately, our custom software is more than a lighting control system. It is a tool that allows spaces to be experienced in a new way — dynamically, interactively, and in real time.

We're working on the world's most advanced media faсade ☀️

The building sits on a clifftop above the city. By the time this project is complete, it will be one of the most technically sophisticated architectural lighting installations in the world and one of Tbilisi's most recognizable landmarks — TBC - თიბისი .

This is not a standard faсade lighting project.

Every luminaire was engineered from scratch under our own brand, Expolight Instruments — custom PCBs, LEDs, profiles, and connectors, all developed specifically for this building's geometry. Three distinct radii. Magnetic mounting that allows tool-free removal for maintenance, yet holds firm in extreme wind conditions. A new control protocol delivering 60 fps refresh rate across the entire faсade.

The media strips are data-connected. The system is designed to respond to live external feeds in real time — sports results, currency exchange rates, financial market data. For a bank on a rock above a capital city, the building itself becomes a display of the world it operates in.

The faсade panels were manufactured in Germany to tolerances defined by our own technical specifications. Engineering, assembly, and testing were carried out in Ukraine.

The project brings together an exceptional international team: architects UNStudio (Netherlands), faсade contractor Domus Aluminium led by Sergii Sokolenko, structural consultancies Priedeman and LDC, and local partner Archtrade / არქთრეიდი — with our team leading all lighting design, engineering, and installation.

The faсade is coming to life. Stay tuned 🧡

We won top prize at Media Architecture Biennale for the "Road of Life" memorial installation!✨🏆

Our memorial light installation Road of Life has received the Grand Prix at the Media Architecture Biennale — one of the most prestigious international competitions in the field of media architecture, held every two years. This year's edition took place in Bangkok, Thailand.

The installation is located at the site of the destroyed Romanivskyi Bridge in Irpin — a landmark that became a symbol of resilience during the full-scale war in Ukraine. Pulsing red threads of light trace the bridge's structure, referencing the image of a wound being sutured: a visual language that speaks to trauma, healing, and the endurance of human will.

The project was developed in partnership with the Київська обласна державна адміністрація, Анна Куценко and reflects the studio's broader commitment to using light as a medium for memory and civic narrative.

"Road of Life" demonstrates that architectural light can go beyond aesthetics — it can carry meaning, document history, and give communities a space to grieve and recover.

This recognition at the international level affirms the relevance of the project's message and the strength of the Ukrainian creative sector in representing the country's story to a global audience.

Italian Atmosphere in Odesa✨

We created the lighting concept for Porto Franco — the largest Italian restaurant in Odesa.

The goal: to feel Italy. Light, warm, alive.

A chandelier that shifts with the mood of the room. Grazing light on fabrics and curtains. Accent lighting on tables, walls, and greenery. A staircase revealed in all its elegance. And a stage that frames the grand piano like a theatre.

Today this space is full of people, music, and emotion — and that is the greatest reward.

Porto di Luce d'Oro — L'Italia a Odessa 🧡✨

Today, the team is proud to share their work on the lighting concept for Porto Franco — the newest and largest Italian restaurant in Odesa.

The goal was simple but meaningful: to capture the spirit of Italy — light, airy, and uncluttered. The team spent time thinking through every detail, and today the space is filled with people, emotions, and live music. Seeing a place come to life is, without a doubt, the greatest reward.

Through carefully considered lighting, our team crafted the atmosphere of an Italian evening — fitting for a venue that celebrates live performances, music, and authentic Italian cuisine.

The centerpiece of the restaurant is a breathtaking chandelier whose light shifts with the time of day and the mood of the room. Grazing light was used to highlight the texture of fabrics and curtains, while accent lighting draws attention to the tables, walls, shelving, and greenery. The central staircase was illuminated to reveal its elegance and fluidity, and in the stage area, the lighting creates a dramatic depth that frames the grand piano and gives the space a true sense of theatre.

It was a genuine pleasure to collaborate once again with architect Alena Bondar I’M Design — a creative partnership built on mutual understanding and shared vision. These are exactly the synergies that lead to the best results.

A heartfelt thank you, Alex Cooper Alena Bondar for the trust and the opportunity to be part of this remarkable project.

Have you visited Porto Franco yet? What was your favourite part of the space? Share your impressions in the comments — the team would love to hear them.

In the Molfar Brussels project, located in a historic building over 300 years old in the center of Brussels, our goal was to integrate modern lighting solutions without compromising the authenticity of the architecture, while also enhancing the mystical concept of the restaurant.

In collaboration with architects NUMO BURO, Yuriy Tereshchenko, and Kateryna Tereshchenko, we built a multi-layered lighting structure where every element of the interior works through light:

— Accent lighting on vertical surfaces and metal creates an effect of inner illumination, especially on brass, which “comes alive” under narrow amber beams.
— Wood textures are enhanced with warm gradients, adding depth and tactile quality to the space.
— In the community table area, caustic reflections form a dynamic play of light on the ceiling, adding movement to the space.
— In the restrooms, shadow fixtures create graphic patterns that reinforce the overall concept and introduce an element of discovery.

Scenario-based lighting also plays a key role: integrated biodynamic lighting changes the restaurant’s atmosphere throughout the day—from soft daytime illumination to a more intimate evening mood—supporting different types of guest interaction with the space.

As the central compositional element, we used our bespoke light-glass chandeliers, which reinforce the spatial concept through reflections and “fiery” effects.

All lighting solutions were custom-designed for the project and integrated into the Expolight Cloud Control System, allowing the space to be managed in real time from anywhere in the world.

This project is an example of how lighting can not only emphasize architecture but also create a unique atmosphere that becomes part of a place’s identity.

We sincerely thank our client Serhii Denisov for bringing an outstanding Ukrainian project to life in the heart of Europe, and for giving us the opportunity to contribute our Ukrainian light to it.

Exquisite lighting for a restaurant in the heart of Downtown Dubai

Bisou Dubai is one of the most beautiful restaurants in central Dubai, where French elegance blends with the spirit of the Middle East.

The restaurant is located near the famous Opera Plaza, just a few steps from the Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa skyscraper. Today, it is already operating successfully and has become a popular destination in Dubai.

💡In this project, we worked with architectural lighting to delicately highlight the interior design, revealing its tactile quality and the expressiveness of its details.
On the first floor, special attention was paid to the spatial hierarchy—the main focal point is the decorative pendant lights.

The light softly transforms throughout the day—changing in temperature and hue, turning the lights into living flowers that seem to bloom in the air.

The bar area is highlighted by warm, concealed lighting that draws guests’ attention to the fascinating process of creating signature dishes.

The grand staircase leading to the second floor is also integrated into the lighting design—its illumination changes in sync with the entire space, creating a unified, dynamic atmosphere.

As a result, we succeeded in enhancing the sophistication of the interior, adding depth to it, and creating a special magic in the space through light.

Atmospheric lighting for a new venue in the heart of Warsaw 🇵🇱

Located in the very center of Warsaw’s vibrant nightlife district, Kiki Burger Cafe is a youth-oriented restaurant with a bold character and minimalist interior — a space where the atmosphere constantly shifts with the rhythm of the city.

For this project, our team created a lighting concept that transforms the venue’s atmosphere throughout the day. 💡

Using accent lighting, we highlighted the unique textures and details of the interior, allowing materials and forms to reveal themselves in the most expressive way.

The project also features bi-dynamic lighting scenarios that change during the day, creating mood and atmosphere — from daytime comfort to evening energy.

All systems are controlled via the Expolight Cloud Control System, allowing remote management of the lighting from anywhere in the world and quick adaptation of the venue’s atmosphere for different events and scenarios.

We would like to thank the architectural studio I’M Design Alena Bondar for collaborating on this project.

Here, light becomes more than illumination — it is an integral part of the design, bringing the space to life and creating the perfect mood for every evening at KIKI. 🧡✨
