CNC Machine Tool Manufacturer The main products during its beginning stage were Sawing Machines and Grinding Machines. Realizing the industry trend toward high automation and unmanned operations in the machine tool industry, the development in CNC Machine Tool was launched in the same year, and the brand name FEELER was established for the overseas marketing. In 1986, the first moving column vertical machining center in Taiwan was built and it was highly regarded by the market. After this success, the development of CNC Lathes was launched in order to complete the FEELER product line.

友嘉集團台灣工具機事業群協理湯嘉輝博士受邀參與8月20日「2026臺印度中小企業合作論壇」，與經濟部政務次長何晉滄、印度中小微企業部次長 Mr. Bharat Khera，以及印度工具機製造商協會（IMTMA）、印度電子產業協會（ELCINA）等臺印產業代表，共同交流智慧製造與產業合作發展。

隨著全球製造業持續朝自動化、數位化與智慧化發展，工具機所扮演的角色，也從單一加工設備，逐步延伸至智慧製造體系中的重要環節。

友嘉深耕印度市場多年，從技術服務與應用支援，逐步延伸至在地製造、工程設計、治具開發、Turnkey 工程與自動化整合。本次論壇中，友嘉也從多年設廠與營運經驗出發，分享印度製造業發展所帶來的機會與挑戰，並就供應鏈、工程品質、成本與關稅條件，以及智慧製造需求等面向，提出貼近實際營運的觀察與建議。

▍Connecting Taiwan and India through Manufacturing Expertise

Dr. Jerry Tang, Director of the Taiwan Machine Tool Business Group at Fair Friend Group (FFG), was invited to participate in the 2026 Taiwan-India SME Cooperation Forum held on August 20, joining Deputy Minister Ho Chin-Tsang of Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, Bharat Khera of India’s Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, and representatives from the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) and the Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA) to exchange views on smart manufacturing and industrial cooperation.

As global manufacturing continues to advance toward automation, digitalization, and smart manufacturing, machine tools are evolving beyond standalone production equipment to become an essential part of the smart manufacturing ecosystem.

With years of experience in India, FFG has expanded from technical services and application support to local manufacturing, engineering design, fixture development, turnkey solutions, and automation integration. At the forum, FFG shared insights from its experience in establishing and operating facilities in India, highlighting both opportunities and challenges in the country’s manufacturing sector, including supply chains, engineering quality, cost and tariff considerations, and the growing demand for smart manufacturing.

As India’s manufacturing sector continues to grow, FFG will continue to build on its technical expertise and local experience to strengthen industry engagement and explore further opportunities for collaboration.

▍從加工材料特性，規劃 CNC 銑床配置策略

CNC 銑床的配置，不能只看主軸轉速、加工行程或單一規格。材料的硬度、韌性、切削阻力與切屑型態不同，對主軸特性、機台剛性、導軌結構，以及冷卻與排屑系統的要求也會有所差異。

🔹鋁合金：高速加工與排屑效率
鋁合金切削阻力相對較低，適合高速、高進給加工，但加工時容易產生積屑瘤與大量輕質切屑。因此，除了主軸轉速與進給反應，沖屑及排屑效率也相當重要，以降低刀具黏附、切屑回切與表面刮傷的風險。

🔹鋼材與模具鋼：扭矩、剛性與表面品質
鋼材與模具鋼的切削阻力及熱負荷較高，且粗加工與精加工對機台特性的要求不同。粗加工著重低速扭矩、結構剛性與持續負載能力；精加工則更重視主軸反應、振動控制與表面品質。因此，機台配置應依粗、精加工比例，評估主軸形式、導軌結構，以及冷卻與鋼屑排除能力。

🔹鑄鐵：減震、負載能力與粉屑處理
鑄鐵加工常伴隨斷續切削衝擊，並產生細小且具磨耗性的粉屑。除了機台剛性、負載能力與減震效果，也須重視護罩密封、集塵、過濾及細屑處理，降低粉屑進入機台關鍵部位、影響長期加工穩定性的風險。

🔹硬脆材料：降低切削力與崩裂風險
石英、玻璃、碳化矽及先進陶瓷等硬脆材料，在加工時較容易出現微裂紋、崩邊與刀具磨耗。除了高速主軸、細微粉屑過濾與加工區域防護，也可依製程需求導入超音波加工，透過高頻振動降低切削阻力，提升加工穩定性與表面品質。

材料特性是 CNC 銑床配置的重要起點，實際應用仍需綜合考量工件尺寸、刀具、加工策略與精度要求，才能兼顧效率、穩定性與品質。

▍Selecting CNC Milling Machine Configurations Based on Workpiece Material

A CNC milling machine should not be selected based solely on spindle speed, travel, or any single specification. Differences in material hardness, toughness, cutting resistance, and chip form directly affect the requirements for spindle performance, machine rigidity, guideway configuration, coolant delivery, and chip removal.

🔹 Aluminum Alloys: High-Speed Machining and Efficient Chip Evacuation

Aluminum alloys have relatively low cutting resistance and are well suited for high-speed, high-feed machining. However, built-up edge and large volumes of lightweight chips may occur. In addition to spindle speed and dynamic response, effective chip flushing and evacuation are essential to reduce tool adhesion, chip recutting, and surface scratches.

🔹 Steel and Mold Steels: Torque, Rigidity, and Surface Quality

Steel and mold steels generate higher cutting resistance and thermal loads, while roughing and finishing place different demands on the machine. Roughing emphasizes low-speed torque, structural rigidity, and continuous load capacity, whereas finishing requires responsive spindle performance, vibration control, and consistent surface quality. Machine configuration should therefore be evaluated according to the roughing-to-finishing ratio, including spindle type, guideway configuration, coolant flow, and steel chip evacuation.

🔹 Cast Iron: Damping, Load Capacity, and Chip Control

Cast iron machining often involves intermittent cutting impact and produces fine, abrasive particles. In addition to machine rigidity, load capacity, and vibration damping, enclosure sealing, dust collection, filtration, and fine-particle removal are important for preventing contamination of critical machine components and maintaining long-term machining stability.

🔹 Hard-Brittle Materials: Reducing Cutting Force and Chipping Risk

Quartz, glass, silicon carbide, and advanced ceramics are prone to micro-cracks, edge chipping, and tool wear. Along with a high-speed spindle, fine-particle filtration, and proper enclosure protection, ultrasonic machining may be introduced depending on process requirements. Its high-frequency axial vibration helps reduce cutting force and improve machining stability and surface quality.

Workpiece material is an important starting point when planning CNC milling machine configuration. Final specifications should also consider workpiece size and weight, tooling, machining strategy, accuracy requirements, and production methods to achieve the required efficiency, stability, and machining quality.
