The Right Reactor Selection Is the First Step Toward Efficient Production
An industrial reactor is more than just a process vessel. It is a critical piece of equipment that directly affects product quality, energy consumption, production time, and operational safety.
Key factors to consider when selecting the right reactor:
✅ Process Characteristics:
The viscosity, density, solids content, and chemical properties of the process fluid must be carefully analyzed.
✅ Capacity & Working Volume:
In addition to nominal capacity, adequate free volume, foaming, and expansion conditions must also be considered.
✅ Material Selection:
AISI 304, AISI 316L, or special alloys should be selected according to corrosion resistance requirements, operating temperature, and process chemicals.
✅ Mixing System:
Agitator type, blade geometry, rotational speed, motor power, and mechanical seal must be engineered according to the specific process requirements.
✅ Heating & Cooling:
The selection of a jacket, half-pipe coil, or internal coil should be based on engineering calculations and the required heat-transfer area.
✅ Pressure, Vacuum & Temperature:
The reactor’s design conditions must safely withstand actual operating conditions as well as potential maximum loads.
✅ Safety & Automation:
Pressure, temperature, level, and weight control should be evaluated together with the required safety equipment and automation system.
✅ Cleaning & Maintenance:
CIP/SIP requirements, drainage, minimization of dead zones, and easy access to maintenance points should all be considered during the design stage.
At Makfen, we design and manufacture each reactor based on process conditions, required capacity, and specific customer needs, supported by engineering calculations and high manufacturing quality standards.
