Is your production running slower than it should?
Maybe the problem isn’t your injection molding machine.
Think about a bottle cap.
A single part may weigh only a few grams. But when you produce hundreds of millions of caps per year, every 0.1 second of cycle time matters.
Injection is complete.
The mold is ready to open.
But what if the cap hasn’t yet reached the required demolding temperature?
You have to wait.
In high-volume PP/HDPE plastic cap production, the injection molding machine can be fast, the robot can be fast, and the mold can be highly optimized.
But if heat cannot be removed from the part quickly enough, cooling time becomes the production bottleneck.
Consider this example:
48-cavity mold
Cycle time: 4.0 seconds
Theoretical production capacity:
43,200 caps/hour
Now imagine that more precise, high-flow process temperature control allows us to reduce the cycle time by just 0.5 seconds, from 4.0 to 3.5 seconds.
49,371 caps/hour
Same machine.
Same mold.
Same product.
But the result:
+6,171 caps/hour
≈ 14.3% higher theoretical production capacity
And the entire difference comes from just 0.5 seconds.
So, what does CHILLTECH do here?
Instead of relying solely on process water supplied from a central cooling system, CHILLTECH operates directly beside the injection molding machine, responding to the specific thermal requirements of the mold.
High flow rate — effective water circulation through the mold cooling channels
High pressure — helps overcome pressure losses within the mold cooling circuit
0.5°C precise temperature control — more stable mold temperature
Fast thermal response — rapid reaction to changing process loads
The objective is not simply to supply colder water to the mold.
The objective is to optimize heat transfer from the mold by controlling flow rate + pressure + temperature stability, allowing the part to reach its required demolding temperature in the shortest possible and most controlled time.
The result:
Shorter cycle times.
More consistent cap geometry.
Less deformation.
Higher hourly production.
