รอยเว้าใต้แนวเชื่อมคือ Undercut? 🤔

What is Undercut in Welding?
Have you ever noticed a small groove at the edge of your weld bead? That's called UNDERCUT.
It's a groove at the weld toe caused by insufficient melting of the base metal. It weakens the joint and may cause your work to fail inspection.
Common Causes:
Excessive current
Travel speed too high
Incorrect electrode angle
Poor surface preparation
How to Prevent It:
Set proper current, maintain proper travel speed, keep the correct electrode angle, and always clean the surface before welding.
A good weld = A smooth weld toe with no undercut.
Note: Acceptable limits for undercut depend on the applicable code or specification.
