ทุกภาคส่วนล้วนมีบทบาทในการลดผลกระทบ และสร้างอนาคตที่ยั่งยืนขึ้น

It may seem far away from us… and we never thought it will affect us. Melting glacier doesn't effect only the North Pole, but also resulting in raising temperature, bad weather, and our lives.
The world has been changing…
All sectors play an important role in mitigating the impact.

ผมโตที่ระยอง

มันทำให้ผมเริ่มสนใจเรื่องสิ่งแวดล้อม

แทนที่จะพึ่งพาเตาหลอมเหล็กที่ใช้ถ่านหินเป็นเชื้อเพลิง การผลิตเหล็กโดยตรง (Direct Reduced Iron หรือ DRI) ใช้ก๊าซธรรมชาติ และไฮโดรเจนสีเขียวที่กำลังได้รับความนิยมมากขึ้น ในการลดแร่เหล็กด้วยการปล่อยก๊าซคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ที่ต่ำกว่าอย่างมาก จากนั้นเหล็กจะถูกหลอมในเตาหลอมไฟฟ้า (Electric Arc Furnace หรือ EAF) ซึ่งใช้พลังงานไฟฟ้าจากแหล่งพลังงานหมุนเวียนได้

Instead of relying on coal-based blast furnaces, Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) uses natural gas — and increasingly green hydrogen — to reduce iron ore with significantly lower CO₂ emissions. The iron is then melted in an Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), powered by electricity that can come from renewable sources.

This modern steelmaking route delivers the same high-quality steel, while substantially reducing environmental impact.

At Meranti Green Steel, we are committed to supporting the transition toward cleaner, more sustainable industrial materials — helping our partners build stronger, with lower carbon.

Meranti Green Steel has officially opened its new office in Muscat, Oman.

This is a major milestone in our international expansion and an important step forward for our green iron platform in Oman, supporting the supply of certified, competitive low-carbon HBI to our global partners.

With 100% of Module 1 offtake already secured and FID targeted for mid-2026, we are continuing to build a commercially viable and scalable pathway for industrial decarbonization.

On 24–25 June 2025, Andrew Fang, our Senior Director of Organization Development, participated in AsiaCoke 2025 held in Singapore.

During the event, Andrew shared how Meranti Green Steelis leveraging Direct Reduced Iron (DRI)technology in combination with Electric Arc Furnaces (EAFs)powered by renewable energy to reduce CO₂ emissions by over 70% a figure that is expected to exceed 90%in the near future. This achievement is made while maintaining cost competitiveness and ensuring full CBAM compliance
We welcome peers across the iron and steel ecosystem to join Andrew, and explore how collaboration can unlock resilient, low-emission growth for Asia.
