Yes—but compatibility must be checked as a complete slab formwork system.

The panel, secondary H20 beams, primary beams, heads, props and bracing must work together under the expected concrete and construction loads. Panel thickness alone does not determine the correct H20 beam spacing.

ROCPLEX 3 ply yellow formwork panels are available in 21 mm and 27 mm nominal thicknesses, including 500 mm width options commonly used in modular floor formwork layouts. They use a three-layer construction of European spruce.

Both faces have an AICA resin coating, with an approximate product specification of 130 g/m². Optional edge sealing is available.

Before combining the panels with H20 timber formwork beams, check:

• Panel bending strength and stiffness
• Maximum permitted panel span
• Primary and secondary beam spacing
• Slab thickness and fresh-concrete load
• Floor-prop capacity and spacing
• Panel orientation and support beneath joints
• Bracing, edge protection and installation method

Our bonding specification refers to EN 314-2 Bond Class 3. This concerns glue-bond quality under exterior exposure conditions; it is not a formwork load rating or span table.

With careful stripping, cleaning, protected cut edges and dry storage, the panels may achieve up to 40 uses. Actual results depend on the concrete mix, release agent and site handling.

Which structural plywood grade does your project need?

The answer depends on the application—not simply how the plywood looks.

✓ Structural walls: Confirm the F-grade, panel thickness, fixing pattern and bracing design.
✓ Floors and roofs: Match the structural grade and thickness to the support spacing, span and expected load.
✓ Furniture and cabinetry: Focus on face grade, core quality, thickness and machining performance.
✓ Decorative wall panels: Check surface finish, flatness and appearance.
✓ Concrete formwork: Specify film quality, glue bond, edge sealing and expected reuse.

A face grade describes appearance. An F-grade indicates structural stress properties. They are not interchangeable.

IS MDF BOARD RIGHT FOR YOUR RENOVATION PROJECT?

MDF Board is an engineered wood panel made from wood fibres bonded with resin under heat and pressure. Its uniform core and smooth surface make it suitable for precise machining and decorative finishing.

Common interior applications include:

What controls the load capacity of an H20 Beam?

It is not determined by bending strength alone.

In a typical slab formwork system, the load path is:

Wet concrete → formwork plywood → H20 beams → beam heads and props → supporting structure.

Four checks can govern the design:

• Bending moment: mainly resisted by the timber flanges
• Shear force: transferred primarily through the central web
• Deflection: controlled by bending stiffness EI and clear span
• Support reaction: checked where the beam bears on heads or supports

Current ROCPLEX published product data includes:

• Overall section: 200 × 80 mm
• Permissible bending moment: 5.0 kN·m
• Permissible shear force: 11.0 kN

These values cannot independently determine beam spacing or allowable slab thickness. The design must also consider fresh-concrete load, reinforcement, construction loads, formwork plywood, primary and secondary beam spacing, clear spans and prop layout.

Before purchasing H20 Formwork Beams, request the complete M, Q, EI and support-reaction data, load tables, test conditions and applicable EN 13377 documents.
