17 years. Two continents. Zero excuses. 🚢
Today my colleague Srinivasakannan Rengalwar hits 17 years at Zener — and honestly, the man has practically got frequent flyer miles tattooed on his passport.
He started as a wide-eyed naval architecture graduate out of AMET University, cutting his teeth in our Mumbai office. Fast forward to 2015 — Zener needed someone to open the Rotterdam office from scratch, and Srini raised his hand. No playbook, no “how to survive Dutch winters” manual, just grit (and I assume a very good coat).
Then came 2020. The world shut down. Everyone else was perfecting banana bread and Zoom backgrounds — and Zener decided this was the perfect moment to launch two brand-new global offices, Houston and Dubai. Somehow, Srini was first on a plane again, this time setting up shop in Houston in the middle of a global pandemic. Absolute chaos. He handled it like he was just switching seats on a ferry.
Rotterdam, Houston — give this man an empty office and a strong wifi connection and he’ll build you a whole operation. At this point I’m convinced Zener’s expansion strategy is just “point Srini at a map.”
Beyond the job titles and the stamps in his passport, he’s become something better — a genuine friend, a brother, someone I trust completely. 17 years of building offices is impressive. 17 years of building people up along the way is what actually matters.
Congratulations, Srini. Here’s to the next chapter — wherever in the world Zener sends you next. 🌍⚓️
