🚧 on Cross Island Line ( ) Phase 1 Works

🔧 Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) don’t just carve out MRT tunnels, they also install concrete linings simultaneously? These engineering workhorses are key to building Singapore’s underground rail network safely and efficiently.

Since November, tunnelling works for CR7 station along Defu Avenue 1 and Avenue 2 as well as the CR8 Hougang Interchange Station, have been completed! 🎉 Despite challenges like tunnelling beneath buildings and live North-East Line tunnels, our teams have maintained close operational control to keep the ground and surrounding structures stable as the TBMs passed through. 💪

Stay tuned for more updates as we move into the next stages of construction! 🚇

🎉 Construction on the Cross Island Line ( ) Phase 2 has commenced! 🚇

Targeted for completion by 2032, will add six new underground stations along a 15-kilometer stretch, enhancing connectivity in Singapore’s western region.

Journey times between western parts of Singapore and other parts of the island will be reduced from over an hour by bus and train today to 30 minutes with 💫

⬇️ King Albert Park interchange station will be Singapore's deepest station at 50 metres (equivalent to a 16-storey building)! 🏗️

will be our 8th and longest fully-underground line (over 50km long when fully completed), and it'll connect existing and future developments in the eastern, western, and north-eastern corridors and link major hubs such as the Jurong Lake District, Punggol Digital District and Changi. The entire is expected to see a daily ridership of more than 600,000 when it opens in phases from 2030.
