Helping save one of America’s biggest fireworks traditions with Clark Forklifts!

Thunder Over Louisville is recognised as the largest annual fireworks display in North America, drawing hundreds of thousands of spectators and marking the official lead‑in to the iconic Kentucky Derby.

A signature moment of the show is the “bridge effect”, where fireworks appear to launch in sequence across the Ohio River. This year, new safety restrictions put that famous effect at risk.

As shared by event organisers, an innovative solution was introduced. 30 Clark forklifts fitted with specially engineered platforms were used to safely and accurately position pyrotechnics equipment. This allowed crews to recreate the same breathtaking effect while meeting strict safety requirements.
