Stafsjö develop and manufacture high performance knife gate valves for reliable and durable operation

Every installation has its own challenges, and sometimes the best solution is not replacing equipment, but making what is already there work better.

This Stafsjö WB14 DN 400 was delivered as part of a project back in 2014 and is still performing its duty.

The valve is operated 1-2 times per week, but due to its installation position, manual operation had become a physically demanding task for the operators. At the same time, the customer wanted to keep the valve manual and a non-rising stem design was still required due to limited space above the valve.

After listening to the customer’s needs, our team developed a solution featuring an AUMA gearbox with a GST unit and a total reduction ratio of 4:1. The result is a significantly smoother operation, and it can now be comfortably operated with one hand only.

What makes this project extra special is that we did not just propose the solution, we also carried out the upgrade. That is part of The Stafsjö Way: listening, adapting, and supporting our customers throughout the entire journey, from challenge to completed solution.

Engineered for reliable performance in demanding pulp mill bleaching applications, this HX-T DN500 combines reliable shut-off performance with outstanding resistance to aggressive process media.

To withstand the harsh operating conditions, these valves feature titanium bodies and wetted parts, ensuring exceptional durability and corrosion resistance.

Part of Stafsjö's HX series, these high-pressure knife gate valves are designed for some of the industry's most severe applications.
Their through-going gate design ensures bi-directional tight shut-off, excellent flow characteristics, and dependable performance in high-consistency media such as pulp, chemicals, ash, and granulates.

Biomass processes are as diverse as the materials they handle.♻️

From food waste and sewage sludge to agricultural residues and by-products from the pulp and paper industry; biomass plays an important role in the production of renewable energy and bio-fertilizer. These processes also place high demands on the equipment involved. At Stafsjö we have a wide range of knife gate solutions to support all kinds of biomass processes. Worldwide!

- The Stafsjö range WB11, WB14 and the full stainless steel WB14E provide the user with valuable features such as full bi-directional capability and cavity-free full bore that prevents media build-up during operation. The WB14 and WB14E additionally adds dead-end capability, which normally is an appreciated feature amongst the maintenance personnel. With the valve installed on one fl**ge only, any downstream equipment can be disengaged, and the knife gate valve will be able to maintain its full sealing integrity.

- For abrasive and demanding biomass applications, the MV knife gate valve is often the natural choice.
