What an incredible 3 days! The WorldSkills BootCamp 2026 has come to a phenomenal close!

After three days of intense learning, hard work, and fierce but friendly competition, our talented young maintenance technicians have completed their preparation for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026.

Throughout the bootcamp, these amazing competitors pushed their limits in shaft alignment, balancing, and vibration analysis. The dedication, focus, and skill displayed by every single participant was truly inspiring—and the podium finishers have now been decided!

A Heartfelt Thank You

A huge thank you to everyone who made these three days unforgettable. Thank you to all the brilliant competitors who participated with such passion, to the dedicated experts for sharing their knowledge, and to everyone behind the scenes.

Imbalance or something much worse?

Earlier this week, Gareth Hughes, Condition Monitoring Engineer and ISO CAT II Vibration Analyst, was called to a steel plant to balance a fan running at a high vibration of 64 mm/s RMS. It looked like a standard balancing job—until he connected our new wireless balancing tool.

The real-time vibration spectrum immediately revealed multiple synchronous and half-order harmonics. This was a textbook sign of severe rotating looseness, not imbalance!

Instead of blindly continuing to balance, he advised the customer to stop and inspect the machine. The result? A major crack in the impeller hub.

By identifying the true root cause early, he prevented a catastrophic failure and saved the customer from massive downtime and costs.
