We are excited to attend the Vision Zero Conference in Stockholm. The conference is a two-day long event where decision makers, key actors, and scholars within the road safety sector have an opportunity to share invaluable knowledge and experiences. As one of the exhibitor’s, we’re here to showcase and discuss what the future of road safety can look like, and what’s needed to better go from visions to implementation.

This years’ ADAS & Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo in Stuttgart provided an excellent platform for networking and knowledge exchange among professionals in the autonomous driving industry. The event successfully highlighted some significant progress made in ADAS technologies, while also addressing the challenges that lie ahead. As experts for road safety and low-latency computer vision systems, Terranet was invited to talk about the challenges of autonomous driving in urban traffic. The numerous audience questions after our presentation showed that effective road safety needs complementary and faster sensors in order to get quicker and closer to Vision Zero.

Since safety remains the essential concern in the domain of self-driving cars speakers emphasized the importance of rigorous testing, validation, and certification procedures for autonomous vehicles to ensure their reliability and minimize risks. Discussions also revolved around the development of industry standards and regulations governing the deployment and operation of autonomous vehicles. Three insightful days served as a good environment for fostering innovation, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas, further accelerating the advancement of autonomous driving and driver assistance systems.

A significant aspect of the conference was the progresses in sensor technologies, such as LiDAR, radar, and cameras, which play a critical role in enabling vehicles to perceive and interpret their surroundings accurately.

Back in March we had the initial prototype of Terranet’s laser scanner delivered to our offices in Lund. The laser scanner has now undergone successful testing in a controlled laboratory environment. The results are promising and the laser scanner has the potential to serve as a vital component of the BlincVision anti-collision product. This testing phase marks a significant milestone towards integrating the system into vehicles.
