Tight deadlines. Last-minute changes. One supplier who said yes. 👇

I grundläggning och brunnsborrning finns en sak gemensam för de flesta projekt: osäkerhet. Berg som inte beter sig som prognosen. Tidsplaner som pressas. Beslut som måste fattas snabbt.

En entreprenör behövde 711 ring-set med kort varsel, efter att lösningen redan godkänts i projektet. Förutsättningarna var tydliga: att producera en enskild enhet innebär hög kostnad och låg effektivitet. Det är ofta skäl nog att avstå.

Vi valde att gå vidare.

Choosing the Right Core Drilling System for Your Project

Most drilling crews select their core drilling system based on what's already on the truck. That's the wrong starting point – your choice should be guided by formation type and depth requirements.

The Terracore program covers the full spectrum, from conventional double-tube systems to advanced wireline systems for deep drilling applications.

Conventional Double-Tube Systems (T2 / T6)
Suitable for all-angle drilling with water flushing. T2 thin-wall systems deliver fast pe*******on with hole diameters from 46–101 mm, while T6 standard-wall systems handle high-viscosity mud flushing. Best suited for boreholes up to 10–50 m.

Wireline Double-Tube Systems
The inner core barrel is retrieved via wireline without pulling the drill string – significantly reducing downtime in deep holes. Preferred for time-sensitive projects, deep drilling, and operations in densely built environments.

Geobor S – Triple-Tube System
The TerraRoc S Geobor wireline core barrel with standard diameter 146 mm was designed for core sampling from hard, to extremely soft and clayey formations, using a wide range of drilling methods. It is available in usable lengths of 1,5 m and 3,0 m.

S Geobor can be adapted to almost all soil and rock situations using different types and shapes of drill bit. Coring is optimised by changing the core lifter (with- or without catch springs), core lifter cases, inner tube assemblies, bits with varying design, et.

Now available with integrated HPD tool for direct measurement of rock deformation properties.

Rule of thumb: Match the system to formation and depth – not to what happens to be available.

Most crews won't change how they select their system after reading this. The ones who will, they already know exactly which formation proved them wrong.

Meet Sinan Dogan - our newly appointed Sales Director for Asia and Africa. Over the rwo coming weeks, we're letting him tell his story in his own words.

"I am an Industrial Engineer with a master's degree in design, bringing 15 years of experience in sales - including 12 years in technical sales. Throughout my career, I have combined engineering knowledge with strong commercial acumen to deliver sustainable growth and long-term partnerships.

I have worked with international companies across diverse markets, successfully managing both local and global dealer networks - developing market strategies, leading cross-border collaborations, and driving business expansion in competitive environments.

People often ask how an Industrial Engineer with a master's in design ends up in Technical Sales. For me, it was simple: I wanted to see how the things we design actually impact the people using them.

My career at TerraRoc began as a Sales Engineer for Eastern Europe - since day one of the TerraRoc story, I have been part of the company's growth journey. Seeing that region thrive was incredibly rewarding, and it's what led to my newest challenge: I've just been appointed as Sales Director for the Asian and African markets.

Now I'm taking everything I learned in Eastern Europe - how to bridge technical design with local market needs - and applying it to drive our growth across two of the most dynamic continents on earth. It's a huge responsibility. But there's nothing like the feeling of opening a new market and watching it succeed.

My 'typical' day usually starts with a global perspective, literally. The first thing I do is check requests coming in from different time zones. While most people have a desk and a chair, my office is often an airplane seat at 30,000 feet. In 2025 alone, I travelled to 23 different countries and met with hundreds of customers.

Whether sitting down with a local dealer or presenting to an international client, my goal is always the same: use my engineering and design background to bridge the gap between our technical specs and their real-world challenges. It's fast-paced - but seeing our solutions work across so many different cultures is the best part of the job."

Challenge Turned Solution: Stabilizing Blast Holes in Virginia

Traditional drilling became difficult at a quarry in Virginia due to collapsing ground conditions. The rock formation caused blast holes to cave in during drilling, leading to delays, rework, and operational disruption.

By introducing TerraRoc Model D plastic casing, the holes remained stable throughout the drilling process. At the same time, the casing could be safely destroyed during blasting without damaging downstream equipment such as crushers.

The result was a cost-effective way to improve both quality and safety, while keeping production on track.
