Under — A Restaurant Beneath the Sea

On the southern coast of Norway, along the cold waters of the North Sea, stands one of the most необычных restaurants in the world — Under. Its name carries a двойное значение: in English, it means “beneath,” and in Norwegian, it also means “wonder.” Both meanings perfectly describe this place.

Amadiya is a city that literally cannot grow. It stands on a flat mountaintop about 1,400 meters above sea level in the mountains of northern Iraq. Steep cliffs turned it into a natural fortress but left no room to expand. For centuries, people built closer and closer, creating a city that seems to float above the valleys and exist outside of time.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, Stanley Praimnath was working on the 81st floor of the South Tower of the World Trade Center when he saw an American Airlines plane speeding straight toward the building.

In an instant, he dropped beneath his desk, praying, just as the jet smashed into the floors above his office. The impact ripped open the wall behind him, sucking nearly everything out of the room—everything except his desk, which shielded him from the flames and falling debris.

Trapped and desperate, Stanley cried out for help. His calls were answered by Brian Clark, another survivor who fought his way through the wreckage to reach him. Together, the two men descended the stairwell and escaped only minutes before the tower collapsed.

Stanley later described his survival as an act of divine intervention and regards Brian as a lifelong brother. In the years after, he embraced pastoral ministry and motivational speaking, carrying forward both his testimony of faith and the enduring bond forged in that moment of tragedy.

🔥 When a Wheel Is Bigger Than Your House!

📸 In the photo — a giant wheel of a Caterpillar mining truck, as tall as a two-story house! To understand the scale — there’s a man in a helmet standing next to it, and he looks like a toy figure.

But here’s the catch — this isn’t just a tire, it’s a wheel covered with a special protective chain weighing several tons. It helps the machine move safely across slippery mud, rocks, and even ice, without risking a puncture.

👉 These machines are used in the mining industry, and the cost of just one such wheel with its chain can exceed tens of thousands of dollars. Imagine — getting a flat tire is already a big problem, but here replacing one “donut” could cost as much as a brand-new apartment!

🚜 These giants work in places where humans couldn’t survive without heavy machinery — in the deepest quarries, on mines, and construction sites, where regular vehicles wouldn’t even be able to move an inch.

⚡ Mind-blowing fact: the diameter of such a wheel can reach 4 meters, and it weighs over 5 tons. This is pure engineering power, created to move hundreds of tons of cargo in a single trip.

📸 Photographers in the cockpits of warplanes!
Military chronicles remember pilots and gunners, but few ever think about those who captured history right in the skies.

This rare shot shows an aerial photographer of World War II, armed not with a machine gun but with a giant camera. Their images became the eyes of the army, helping to build maps and reveal enemy positions.

Operation after operation — it was these photos that determined the outcome of missions.

Behold, the enigmatic Cup and Ring Marked Rock of Northumberland, UK, a canvas etched by Neolithic or Early Bronze Age hands, dating back roughly 4,000 to 5,000 years.
Gazing upon this rock, one feels a whisper from the past, a sense of the enduring human spirit that seeks to leave its mark upon the world. It's a reminder that even the most fleeting lives can leave an indelible impression on the face of time. 🥰 - via Lost Civilizations

With a wingspan of 230 feet—longer than a Boeing 747—the B-36 Peacemaker was a Cold War behemoth designed to project U.S. nuclear power across continents. It boasted six massive pusher-prop piston engines, later augmented by four jet engines, giving rise to the phrase “six turning and four burning.” This hybrid powerplant enabled it to fly over 10,000 miles without refueling—unheard of at the time.
Although it never dropped a bomb in combat, the B-36 served as a powerful deterrent during a tense era, bridging the gap between World War II bombers and the jet age. Its enormous size, high-altitude capabilities, and long range made it a symbol of American strategic might in the early days of the nuclear arms race.
