Apart from the United States and Canada and to a lesser extent China, is the only country where shale type reservoirs are being developed with great success. The presentation begins with the global geopolitical context, going through certain characteristics of unconventional reservoirs to then introduce **ta and what has been achieved to date, mainly dedicating a large part to showing the enabling technologies that have made these developments possible. Finally, it closes with an economic analysis of this type of project that, if not well understood, can be a technical success but an economic failure.
