Our proposal for the new headquarters of the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Kraków received an Honourable Mention in the international competition, placing among the 5 finalists out of more than 40 submitted proposals.

Developed by a multidisciplinary team led by architects Maher Matar from SBS Engineering Group and Manuel Roque from Pitagoras Group, the project is based on a strong integration between Architecture and Acoustics from the conceptual phase onwards - a determining factor in the creation of spaces dedicated to music.

Within a demanding urban context, the proposed solution organises the building around the concert hall, protected from external noise and supported by a rigorous acoustic strategy, combined with a clear and efficient functional organisation.

InAcoustics led the Acoustics project in partnership with Kahle Acoustics, contributing to the coordination between the Architecture studios and promoting an integrated approach from the earliest stages of development.

This weekend, several spaces featuring InAcoustics’ intervention are part of the Open House Lisboa programme.

Among the sites open to the public are the Atelier-Museum Júlio Pomar, the Convento de São Domingos – Convent Square Lisbon Hotel, the Mercado da Ribeira, and the Browers Beato Brewery.

These projects are part of different rehabilitation and redevelopment processes across the city of Lisbon, all of which included InAcoustics’ contribution to the acoustic design.

An excellent opportunity to visit these spaces and discover the architecture of Lisbon from the inside.

Este fim de semana, vários espaços com intervenção da InAcoustics integram o roteiro do Open House Lisboa.

Entre os locais abertos ao público encontram-se o Atelier-Museu Júlio Pomar, o Convento de São Domingos – Convent Square Lisbon Hotel, o Mercado da Ribeira e a Cervejaria Browers Beato.

Estes projetos fazem parte de diferentes processos de reabilitação e requalificação na cidade de Lisboa, tendo contado com a intervenção da InAcoustics na componente acústica.

Uma excelente oportunidade para visitar estes espaços e descobrir a arquitetura de Lisboa por dentro.

We mark the award of the Gold Medal of the International Union of Architects to the Portuguese architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, described as the “highest global distinction awarded to a living architect”.

This international recognition reinforces the impact of a career marked by a rigorous, timeless and widely acclaimed body of work, which has contributed to affirm Portuguese Architecture on the global stage.

Over the past years, we have had the opportunity to collaborate on several projects of his authorship, contributing with the development of acoustic engineering solutions tailored to the requirements and uniqueness of each space. Among these projects, the Bomfim Conservatory Auditorium, Time Out Market Porto, the headquarters of Metro do Porto and the Pousada da Serra da Estrela stand out.

It is with great satisfaction that we follow the recognition of his career and work.

Assinalamos a atribuição da Medalha de Ouro da União Internacional dos Arquitetos ao arquiteto português Eduardo Souto de Moura, descrita como a "mais alta distinção mundial atribuída a um arquiteto em vida".

Este reconhecimento internacional vem reforçar o impacto de um percurso marcado por uma obra rigorosa, intemporal e amplamente reconhecida, que tem contribuído para afirmar a arquitetura portuguesa no panorama global.

Ao longo dos últimos anos, tivemos a oportunidade de colaborar em diversos projetos da sua autoria, contribuindo com o desenvolvimento de soluções de engenharia acústica adaptadas à exigência e singularidade de cada espaço. Today marks International Noise Awareness Day, a date that highlights the importance of understanding the impact of sound on well-being, health and quality of life.

Noise is a determining factor in how we inhabit spaces, work, rest and interact. In increasingly dense urban contexts, its control plays a central role in the way more balanced buildings and cities are designed.

In Acoustic Engineering, this challenge is not limited to noise mitigation. It also involves how sound is considered and integrated from the early stages of a project, through solutions that ensure acoustic comfort in buildings, infrastructure and urban spaces.

More than complying with regulatory requirements, it is an approach that places sound as a fundamental component of the project, contributing to more balanced, healthy and comfortable environments.

Assinala-se hoje o Dia Internacional da Consciencialização sobre o Ruído, uma data que relembra a importância de compreender o impacto do som no bem-estar, na saúde e na qualidade de vida.

O ruído é um fator determinante na forma como habitamos os espaços, trabalhamos, descansamos e interagimos. Em contextos urbanos cada vez mais densos, o seu controlo assume um papel central na forma como se concebem edifícios e cidades mais equilibrados.

Na Engenharia Acústica, este desafio não se limita à mitigação do ruído. Envolve também a forma como o som é pensado e integrado desde as fases iniciais do projeto, através de soluções que asseguram conforto acústico em edifícios, infraestruturas e espaços urbanos.

Mais do que o cumprimento de requisitos normativos, trata-se de uma abordagem que coloca o som como parte estruturante do projeto, contribuindo para ambientes mais equilibrados, saudáveis e confortáveis.

A month after its inauguration, Andaz Lisbon stands out as a project for which InAcoustics, in partnership with afaconsult, developed the acoustic and audiovisual design.

Located in downtown Lisbon, this five-star hotel features 170 rooms and suites, as well as a panoramic restaurant, bar, and gym, with architecture by Mörschel Arquitectos and interior design by Studio Urquiola.

The acoustic design project ensured compliance with the demanding standards of the Hyatt chain and applicable legal requirements, while preserving he building’s architectural and historical features - including façades, stone walls, timber structural elements, and heritage partition walls.

Construction has begun on Jardins do Oriente, in the parish of Campanhã, Porto - the country’s first large-scale Build to Rent residential project, resulting from a public-private partnership between Câmara Municipal do Porto (through Porto Vivo SRU), the Grupo Ageas Portugal, and the contractor Garcia Garcia.

Of the 151 dwellings planned, ranging from studios to three-bedroom units, 124 are intended for affordable rent. The architectural project was designed by Multiprojectus.

InAcoustics is responsible for the acoustic design project, ensuring optimised solutions for sound insulation and equipment noise mitigation, with the necessary cost control.

Começaram as obras do Jardins do Oriente, na freguesia de Campanhã, no Porto, o primeiro grande projeto residencial Build to Rent do país, resultante de uma parceria público-privada entre a Câmara Municipal do Porto (através da Porto Vivo SRU), o Grupo Ageas Portugal e a construtora Garcia Garcia.

Das 151 habitações previstas, com tipologias de T0 a T3, 124 destinam-se a renda acessível. O projeto arquitetónico é da autoria da Multiprojectus.

A InAcoustics é responsável pelo Projeto de Acústica, assegurando soluções otimizadas para isolamento sonoro e mitigação de ruído de equipamentos, com o necessário controlo de custos.

O Edifício Sede EDP II foi distinguido como “Building of the Year 2026”, na categoria “Escritórios”, pela ArchDaily.

A InAcoustics, em parceria com a afaconsult, desenvolveu o projeto de acústica deste emblemático edifício da EDP, marcado pelos seus monólitos de betão, da autoria do arquiteto chileno Alejandro Aravena, em colaboração com o Arq.º Carrilho da Graça.

Desde a fase inicial, o projeto incorporou os requisitos da certificação LEED, com vista à obtenção do nível Silver ou Gold, integrando critérios de sustentabilidade, eficiência energética e qualidade do ar, exigindo uma forte articulação entre especialidades e enquadramento legal.
