HEL Performance | TOPrak Of The World

We are very fortunate here at HEL Performance. We have been sent BSB Trophies, IOM TT Medals, Posters, Leathers, Helmets and all sorts of other memorabilia charting our company history – all of which are proudly displayed here at HEL HQ.

It shows us where we have been – and more importantly where we are going....

Getting a framed image sent through of a certain individual sat on his World Super Bike Championship winning bike while he holds one of our brake lines aloft (the ones he had used all year to claim the Number One plate) was quite special.

Massive thanks to Toprak and the whole SMR BMW Motorrad.

When we started we dreamt of being on an Isle Of Man TT bike. Then maybe, if we were lucky, on a BSB bike, then maybe on a BSB Championship winning bike, on a World Super Bike and maybe a WSBK Championship winning bike and maybe even have our products on a Moto GP bike...

Today all of those dreams have all been realised - repeatedly.

Dare to dream.

We have said it before and we will say it again - it isnt always whats on the surface thats important. And with our stainless steel braided brake lines thats exactly right - its the hidden features and details that make them so god damn good....

Like for example the way in which our fittings are designed with three inner flow rings so that when crimped onto the hose they create 3 x PTFE O rings which allow the fitting to be rotated to make adjustments to alignment without effecting the integrity of the hose. Genius.

Or the way in which we offer a stainless steel braided hose with a PVC cover - the amazing braiding tucked away apart from on our clear or transparent covers - but it is still there. A thing of beauty.

You see the best brake hose you could have wouldn't be a hose - it would be solid stainless steel tube BUT due to the obvious benefits of having suspension the solid tube cant be used - and so the stainless steel braided PTFE hose was born.

It's PTFE interior which is extremely non-stick, chemically inert, and resistant to high temperatures isnt known for being able to take huge pressures seen when hauling a bike or car to a standstill from silly miles, or kilometres, an hour...

So the next best thing is to braid the PTFE with stainless steel wire, interwoven at a special braid angle, to maximise its pressure capabilities.

Its a work of art. Stainless steel braiding is available in a myriad of different numbers of wires, braid patterns, braid angles, wire diameters - and then we hide it all away under our PVC covers..

BUT your bodywork and paintwork thanks us for it - This works like a rasp due to vibration when the vehicle is in motion and it takes no prisoners. So we lock it away.

Its a bit of an animal. A beautiful animal which allows to stay safer, brake later and brake harder with a little bit of HEL magic inside every single line we make...
