60 years on the road, and still welding stories together.
This beautifully preserved 1966 Fiat 500 recently received some well-deserved attention from our colleagues at the Escola de Soldadura Electrex.
With much of its original character carefully maintained, the work focused on the carbon steel exhaust system, where our instructors had the privilege of carrying out a repair using the TIG DC welding process.
More than a technical exercise, this project provided an opportunity to apply best practices in weld quality, heat input control and material preservation - demonstrating how traditional craftsmanship and modern welding expertise can work hand in hand.
Preserving classic engineering takes more than sourcing parts; it requires skill, dedication and a genuine respect for the original design.
A small repair on a timeless icon, and another reminder that quality workmanship never goes out of style.
