⚙️ Some drive systems work so consistently that early warning signs are easy to miss. Mitsubishi Electric MELDAS MDS-B is often one of them. The axes remain stable, the response stays predictable, and the machine keeps running as expected, which is exactly why the first symptoms of deterioration can go unnoticed.

According to the article, MDS-B is a newer and more integrated series than MDS-A, designed for higher power density and better diagnostics. It offers better axis stability, improved braking energy management, and more accurate condition monitoring. From a service point of view, that means a strong CNC drive platform, but one that should still be watched closely, especially when cooling starts to become a weak point.

⚙️ At first, everyone thought it was just a single fault. The ABB ACS580 kept showing the same alarm at the same moment of the machine cycle, and after a reset it went back to work, so production kept running. Until it didn’t. In the end, it stopped warning and simply started shutting down.

That is the point where the issue stops being just a message on the panel and starts affecting machine stability and the whole process. In cases like this, a reset is usually no longer a solution, because the real cause may be linked to internal communication, the power stage, power supply conditions, or cooling.

Have you seen a similar pattern in your plant? First an alarm, then a reset, and finally shutdowns? Read the full problem description on our blog and send the drive for service before the fault develops further.

⚙️ During power dips or short supply interruptions, Schneider Altivar drives can display faults that seem to indicate an internal drive failure. In many real industrial cases, these are secondary symptoms, while the actual cause is unstable power supply, voltage drops under load, or the operating conditions of the whole system.

That is why it is worth looking wider before treating the drive itself as the only source of the problem. Checking input voltage under load, reviewing the fault history, and verifying the motor and cabling can often make the diagnosis much more accurate and prevent unnecessary replacement decisions.

⚙️ Servo motor overheating is rarely just a temperature issue. When shutdowns during operation, line alarms, power loss, and unstable performance start to appear, the problem often goes deeper and may involve both the mechanical and electrical side of the motor.

In the case of this Phase motor, proper repair required full diagnostics, regeneration work, and final testing to restore safe and stable operation. This is exactly why reacting early matters before the fault grows into a bigger production problem.

31/03/2026

⚙️ Mitsubishi Electric MDS-A is one of those older CNC drive series that still earns real respect on the shop floor. It is an older generation drive, still commonly found in lathes and milling machines, built in a modular way with separate axis amplifiers. That is exactly why many factories still rely on it today.

The challenge starts when communication errors with the CNC controller appear, power modules begin to overheat, or switching power supply faults show up more often. At that point, the question is no longer only about repair, but also about how long this architecture should remain in a critical machine.

This is why modernization becomes a serious topic. Not because MDS-A was weak, but because newer Mitsubishi Electric solutions such as MDS-B offer more integrated design, better diagnostics, higher axis stability, and improved braking energy management. In many machines, that can mean a safer future path than waiting for the next fault.

⚙️ A Stober FAS4000 drive usually does not go from normal operation to total failure in one moment. In many cases, earlier warning signs appear first, and these are the signals that should not be ignored in day to day machine operation.

Recurring alarms, unstable drive behaviour, start up issues, temperature warnings, loss of performance, or voltage irregularities can all indicate that the problem is already developing inside the drive or in its operating conditions.

We are not giving away the full diagnosis path here, but if your machine uses a Stober FAS4000, it is worth knowing which symptoms should really raise concern and when fast diagnostics can prevent a bigger production issue.

26/03/2026

⚙️ A Uv fault in Yaskawa GA500 and GA700 drives means the DC bus voltage has dropped below the allowed operating level. In practice, this is usually not just a temporary warning. It often shows that the drive system is working under unstable conditions or that the inverter itself is already developing an internal problem.

The most common causes include power supply issues, ageing electrolytic capacitors, excessive application load, and incorrect drive selection for the motor and the real operating conditions. If the Uv alarm keeps returning, unstable operation, unexpected stops, and higher maintenance costs can follow very quickly. A simple reset is usually not enough.

It is also important to check whether the Uv alarm appears together with an oC fault. When both occur, the problem may be linked not only to low DC bus voltage but also to current overload or poor matching between the drive and the application. Proper diagnostics should include power quality, electrical connections, alarm frequency, DC bus behaviour under load, capacitor condition, and the actual load profile of the machine.

⚙️ This ABB ACS800 came to our service center from an industrial production line with fault messages and unstable operation. The symptoms were not clear enough to point to one obvious cause, so instead of guessing and replacing parts right away, we started with full diagnostics.

Step by step analysis of the power supply section, DC circuit, precharge system, control paths and board communication showed that this was a more complex fault than a standard power stage failure. Only detailed diagnostics made it possible to locate the real source of the problem and restore stable operation.

This carousel shows why industrial drive repair should begin with proper testing, not assumptions. You can read more about ABB drives here: https://rgbelektronika.pl/aktualnosci/falownik-abb-charakterystyka-zastosowanie-i-typowe-usterki/

⚙️ Schneider Electric ATV61 shutting down during operation?

With this drive, the problem does not always start with a major failure. Sometimes the inverter stops because of a small issue that from the outside looks like a serious fault.

That is why ATV61 drives can be misleading even for experienced users. The symptom is simple. The machine stops during operation. The real challenge is identifying where the actual cause is.

Instead of guessing, it is better to verify the drive before the downtime becomes expensive.

If your Schneider Electric ATV61 shuts down during operation, send it for diagnostics.

🔧 Lenze 8400 losing power? Don’t ignore the early warning signs.

Errors, power drops, unstable operation?
That’s a clear signal your Lenze 8400 needs immediate attention.

Delaying repairs often means:
➡ wider internal damage
➡ higher service costs
➡ real risk of production downtime

Early diagnostics mean shorter repair time and a much higher chance of fully restoring drive performance.

Don’t wait until your production line stops.
React early - it simply pays off.

🔵 Lenze 4800 and 4900 – why do they operate for so many years?

These industrial DC converters were designed for heavy-duty applications and high power ratings up to 690 kW. Their robust construction and stable speed control allow them to remain in operation for decades.

Their longevity comes from predictable control electronics and reliable feedback systems such as resolver or encoder. Most failures are related to overheating, aging DC link capacitors or power module damage rather than design flaws.

In many cases, professional repair is technically safe and more cost-effective than full modernization.
