Thank you for joining LIMACON 2026!
On 20–21 May 2026, Bialystok University of Technology became a meeting place for science, industry, innovation and international cooperation during the conference “Advanced Hybrid Lightweight Materials and Technologies for Global Circular Economy”, organised together with MECHANIKA 2026 International Conference.
We would like to thank all Speakers, Panelists and Participants for two inspiring days filled with presentations, discussions, workshops, networking and valuable conversations — both during the official sessions and behind the scenes.
The programme covered key topics such as cross-border cooperation, lightweight engineering, advanced composites, circular economy, AI-driven engineering, digital platforms and additive manufacturing.
We are grateful to all representatives of universities, research institutions, companies, clusters and public organisations who joined us in Białystok and helped create a truly international and collaborative atmosphere.

Konferencja LIMACON 2026 na Politechnice Białostockiej dobiegła końca.

Przez dwa dni eksperci z Polski, Litwy i Niemiec omawiali na Wydział Mechaniczny Politechniki Białostockiej przyszłość lekkich materiałów w kontekście gospodarki obiegu zamkniętego.

Kluczowe wnioski:

🛡️Obronność: Kompozyty są fundamentem nowoczesnego uzbrojenia (lżejsze rakiety i pancerze) oraz zapewniają Polsce niezależność surowcową.

🏗️Budownictwo: Zastosowanie prętów FRP pozwala ograniczyć zużycie betonu, obniżyć ślad węglowy i wyeliminować ryzyko korozji.

🌍Partnerstwa: Wydarzeniu towarzyszyła 30. konferencja „Mechanika 2026”, zorganizowana wspólnie z litewskim Kaunas University of Technology.

🎓Studenci: Sukcesy kół naukowych, m.in. bolidy Cerber Motorsport, pokazują potencjał młodych inżynierów we wdrażaniu innowacji do przemysłu.

Day 2 of LIMACON is behind us — intense, inspiring, and full of future-oriented technologies!
Today’s programme brought together the worlds of science, industry, and international cooperation. We discussed innovation funding, cross-border collaboration, additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence in engineering, biocomposites, functional materials, and modern mechanical systems.
The day featured expert presentations, scientific sessions, discussions, and plenty of inspiration for future joint projects. One message resonated particularly strongly today: the future of industry will be lightweight, intelligent, circular, and built on cooperation.

The first day of LIMACON 2026 was filled with inspiring discussions, international networking, and valuable exchanges of experience. The conference brought together representatives of universities, international research institutions, industrial partners, and Polish Key National Clusters, creating a unique platform for dialogue on the future of advanced materials and innovative technologies.
The conference was officially opened by the Rector of Bialystok University of Technology, who emphasized the importance of strong cooperation between academia and industry in building a competitive, knowledge-based, and innovation-driven economy.
Throughout the sessions and networking discussions, participants highlighted that the development of modern technologies requires close collaboration between science and industry, as well as openness to international partnerships. LIMACON became a meeting point for diverse perspectives, experiences, and competencies — from fundamental research to industrial implementation.
The first day clearly demonstrated that innovation emerges where knowledge, experience, and willingness to cooperate across borders and sectors come together.

As the organizing committee, we are extremely grateful to all participants, speakers and partners for their commitment and contributions to the LIMACON conference held at Bialystok University of Technology. The event was a triumph of collaboration, uniting experts and innovators to explore and enhance the role of hybrid materials and technologies in promoting sustainable development and closed-loop economy practices.
We express our deep appreciation to Politechnika Białostocka and the Polish Society for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics for their leadership and vision in organizing this conference. Our collaboration with the National Key Clusters - the Evoluma Klaster Przemysłowy, dawniej Klaster Obróbki Metali, Polski Klaster Budowlany, Polski Klaster Technologii Kompozytowych - was instrumental in creating a program that addressed the critical needs of industry and academia.
