I know writing is not easy. I know it takes time. And I knowโฆ itโs not paid. โ๏ธ
But some stories need to be told anyway. ๐
A woman walks through a city differently. ๐ถโโ๏ธ
She notices the dark corner of the street, the broken footpath while holding a childโs hand ๐ฉโ๐ง, the long walk to a bus stop ๐, the park where she wonders if itโs safe to sit alone ๐ณ. She experiences the city not just as a resident, but as a daughter, a mother, a caregiver, a neighbour.
She carries many roles โ and because of that, she often thinks for everyone. ๐ค
Yet many of these everyday experiences of cities remain unwritten, undocumented, unheard. ๐
What if we start writing them? โจ
What if the stories of women about their neighbourhoods, streets, parks, markets, and daily journeys begin to shape how we think about cities? ๐๏ธ
Through Women in Urban Planning โ an initiative by City Pulse, we invite you to share your reflections on urban life. ๐ฑ
โจ Just 500โ550 words
โจ In English or Urdu
Your story may seem small โ but it could help us rethink cities for all. ๐
Because when women write about cities, they are rarely writing just for themselves.
They are writing for everyone. ๐ค
