It is the saga of three generations of foundrymen & engineers and our early years of trials and tribulations in pursuit of engineering excellence. Our humble beginnings can be traced back to the year 1896 when our founding fathers, Hussain Bukhsh and Karim Bukhsh, set up a small cast iron foundry wayside Lahore’s Brandreth Road. Winds of revolution had begun to sweep over the subcontinent. India,
the jewel in the British Crown, simmered with political sentiment soon to unfold. Pitted against heavy odds, the brothers toiled tirelessly through the twilight of the Raj. There were nights when the children slept hungrily.... the family’s resilience reached new heights. Pakistan’s birth in 1947 offered a great opportunity for the sons who had come of age. The family business expanded with the setup of new Metallurgical Foundries in the industrial areas of Karachi and Lahore, the two major hubs of Pakistan’s industry. Today, our tradition of hard work and dedication has enabled us to stand tall as a member of Pakistan’s Heavy Engineering Sector. We take pride in our hard-earned pre-eminence as manufacturers of heavy plant & equipment for Pakistan’s sugar, cement, steel, chemical, petrochemical, and power generation sectors. While all of our Group-companies have embraced a corporate management culture, we always take pride in our humble beginnings and spare no effort to inculcate the virtues of a traditional close-knit family within our organization. The process of establishing new companies within the QADRI Group is ongoing. In doing so, a conscious effort has always been made for the scope of activities of each company to complement those of the others and so to reinforce the QADRI Group at the center. In this sense, the pattern of our growth has been centripetal rather than centrifugal. At the same time, we attach high priority to forging links with the world’s leading technology companies for plant & equipment falling under our scope of manufacture.
