Working Principle & Energy Conversion
1.Mechanical Input: An external driver (such as an electric motor or engine) turns the pump shaft, rotating the impeller inside the casing at high speed.
2.Kinetic Energy Addition: Liquid enters axially through the center ("eye") of the impeller. As the curved vanes spin, centrifugal force flings the fluid outward toward the tips of the blades, rapidly accelerating it and transferring kinetic energy into the fluid.
3.Pressure Conversion (Head): As this high-velocity liquid exits the impeller periphery into the expanding volute casing or diffuser, the increasing cross-sectional area slows the fluid down. According to Bernoulli's principle, this deceleration converts the kinetic energy (velocity head) into static pressure (pressure head), forcing the fluid through the discharge nozzle.
