ORIC–MUET Successfully Conducts Training on Responsible Use of AI for Researchers & Academicians
The Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET), Jamshoro, successfully organized a highly interactive training session on “Responsible Use of AI for Researchers and Academicians” on 15th September 2026 at the Siren Hall, ORIC MUET.
The training was attended by faculty members from various departments, nominated by their respective Departmental Heads. The session provided participants with valuable insights into the latest developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its responsible application in research and academia.
The interactive session covered key areas including AI-assisted literature review, research and academic writing, AI hallucinations and bias, verification of AI-generated information, effective prompting, and the responsible use of Generative AI tools. Faculty members also benefited from hands-on experience, enabling them to explore practical applications of AI in their academic and research activities.
The program was chaired by Prof. Dr. Sheeraz Memon, Director ORIC, MUET, who appreciated the valuable efforts of Pakistan Industrial Technical Assistance Centre (PITAC) and ORIC–MUET in creating a collaborative learning environment. He emphasized the importance of continuously strengthening faculty capacity in emerging technologies such as AI and expressed his commitment to organizing many more collaborative learning and capacity-building initiatives in the future.
