Rain or shine, the Jason Marine Tech Philippines service engineering team is hard at work onboard!

Our technical team recently completed a thorough field service and inspection at Pier 16, Manila:

🔹 Furuno Radar (Model 1528):

Issue: Intermittent echo detection signal strength.

Action Taken: Conducted visual inspection (TX Hr: 9785.5H), dismantled RF module, and replaced the magnetron with a brand-new E2V MG5436 (S/N: 196361). Reinstalled RF module to scanner unit, secured all bolts, and reset TX hours.

Status: Despite weather-related delays on site, the new magnetron was successfully installed, tested, and confirmed fully operational! ✅

🔹 Samyung AIS System (Model SI-70A):

Issue: Target vessel detection limited to short distances (~5.2 NM).

Action Taken: Visual inspection completed, dynamic data list verified, and transponder test passed OK.

Findings & Recommendation: Identified weak VHF antenna TX/RX signals. Recommended replacement of the VHF antenna unit along with new coaxial cabling and PL259 connectors to restore optimal tracking range.
