โšก Electrical Safety Starts with Awareness

A simple mistake involving an electrical appliance can lead to serious injuryโ€”or even loss of life. This is why public awareness and proper electrical safety practices remain essential in every home, workplace, and facility.

We are proud to see our Co-Founder and Executive Vice President Engr. Juan Paolo M. Tolentino, once again invited as a resource person on GMA-7 Unang Hirit to share practical electrical safety tips with the public following a tragic incident involving a grounded appliance. His participation also reflects the commitment of the engineering profession, particularly the IIEE community, to promote electrical safety through education and awareness.

Some important reminders everyone should practice:

โœ”๏ธ Inspect power cords, plugs, outlets, and appliances before use. Never use damaged electrical equipment.
โœ”๏ธ Ensure outlets and appliances have proper grounding. Grounding is a critical layer of protection against electric shock.
โœ”๏ธ Avoid touching or operating electrical appliances with wet hands or while standing on a wet surface.
โœ”๏ธ Do not overload convenience outlets or extension cords.
โœ”๏ธ Replace worn-out cords and loose sockets immediately.
โœ”๏ธ If you notice unusual heat, sparks, burning smell, or frequent breaker trips, stop using the equipment and have it inspected by a qualified professional.
