(WPI), which has been providing high-quality prefabricated tanks made from engineering-grade polyethylene for the past 16 years. (WPI), is the Philippine subsidiary of Weida (Malaysia) Berhad, which is the leading manufacturer of engineered polyethylene (PE) products in Malaysia. Weida (M) Berhad started supplying polyethylene engineering products such as storage tanks and pipes in Sarawak in 1983

. By 1988, it had expanded operations to Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah. Weida (M) Berhad is listed on the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) and is backed by government institutional shareholders and the private sector. From water and waste water infrastructure, the company has now branched to extensive stakes in bulk storage systems and telecommunications infrastructure. Overall, the company is considered an institution in Malaysia as far as rotational-moulding of PE products is concerned, a manufacturing process in which the company has been at the forefront of development over the last two decades. With a strong belief in the potential of the Philippine market, Weida expanded its manufacturing base by setting up WPI through a factory in Dasmarinas, Cavite in 2008, representing a great milestone in its path toward overseas expansion.The enterprise involved capital investment in the acquisition and set-up of the necessary machines and equipment which would enable WPI to implement PE rotational moulding operations at a broad scale. Since then, WPI has been replicating the manufacturing standards of excellence that the parent Malaysian company has maintained over the years as an ISO 9000-certified establishment. In a matter of a few short months, WPI began producing PE products which were immediately recognized by local industry insiders as being of the highest quality and standards. The Libis office has put in place all the necessary supports for sales operations, such as autocad facilities which allow for rapid customer response. In fact, the company prides itself in offering clients highly flexible product design and development, which is made possible by WPI's highly-skilled engineering department.
